There was a little private area in front of the hut with a patio set for a welcome evening drink. This looked out onto a large field where campers had already set up their tents but were far enough away for me to enjoy privacy and peace.
Inside the hut was compact but homely. The bed was extremely comfortable and I had a quiet and restful night’s sleep. I opted for the cooked breakfast delivered to my stable door in the morning and ate it on the small kitchen table inside the hut while watching TV. The kitchen and bathroom were compact but very well laid out and resourced.
A short walk across a field takes you through a locked gate ( you get given the number for the gate keypad) and onto the tow path for the barges. This offered a pleasant view of the canal and the totally flat and quite unique landscape of the Fens.
The hospitality of the owner was 5 star.
The place was spotlessly clean and Covid compliant.
I’d definitely go back!
