Self catering and B&B protocols

What we are doing

  • Your accommodation will have benefited from a deep clean using appropriate anti viral/disinfectant products by trained staff, prior to your arrival.
  • Your key will be freshly sanitised and ready for you.
  • In the communal areas, we have rigorous and repetitive cleaning schedules daily – using appropriate products to keep high touch surfaces clean.
  • For B&B guests in the main house, if you have booked a breakfast inclusive rate, we will be serving our usual high quality breakfast in the newly configured private dining area in your room, giving you security that social distancing is not something you will have to worry about while enjoying your meal.
  • For guests in the main house we are providing access to a microwave, crockery and cutlery, enabling you to have meals in the safe space of your room. Our Self Catering guests have self contained facilities to prepare food.
  • Taking payment by debit or credit card.

We ask you to

  • For B&B guests in the main house, we ask you to sanitise your hands immediately on entry using the hand sanitiser provided before moving around the property. This small but important action will help protect all guests and staff.
  • It will be likely that we will have camping guests on the camp field during your stay, and therefore ask that you follow the social distancing protocols that are in place around the property. Please ensure you do not enter individual campers camping pitches as this is their safe space.
  • If you have friends and family from other households staying in other Fourwinds accommodation, or on the camp field, bear in mind you will still have to social distance in line with current government guidelines Day visitors will have to be checked in with us on arrival and abide by our Covid Secure policy.
  • Last but not least, in line with Government guidelines, if you or anyone in your party is suspected of having symptoms or in close contact with someone who has COVID19 symptoms they should please not come – self isolate, get a test and be well 🙂

Campsite Protocols

What we are doing different

  • Check in – Taking payment for balances over the phone week before arrival, having check in packs ready for you and showing you to your pitch when you get here.
  • Deep cleaning of toilet/shower facilities twice a day (area will be closed between 7-8am and 5-6pm (subject to change on occasion).
  • Regular disinfecting of high touch communal areas throughout the day
  • ‘One in, one out’ basis for use of shower, loo and wash up sink. Only 1 person at a time (a parent/carer and child under 10 will be considered as 1). Only 1 toilet, shower and wash up sink in operation to ensure social distancing.
  • Providing hand sanitiser points in high touch areas.
  • Making the most of our large camping pitches to enable social distancing and safe areas for individual households to relax.
  • Asking our guests when camping alongside friends and families outside their household to still adhere to Government social distancing requirements.
  • Day guests will be required to check in with us on arrival and abide by our COVID secure policy on site.

We ask you to

  • Keep 2m away at all times from anyone outside your household.
  • Follow our safety instructions – especially in communal areas and outside of your camping pitch
  • Directly supervise children under 16 at all times outside of your camping pitch in case they inadvertently break the social distancing protocols.
  • For your convenience and comfort use your own on board washing/loo facilities wherever possible. (for tents there is plenty of room on your pitch to erect a toilet/wash tent if you require)
  • Understand we have implemented these guidelines for everyone’s safety and comfort, which may lead to longer wait times for a shower or washing up sink.
  • Bring hand sanitiser, (and gloves if you wish) to use as required.
  • Stop children filling water or emptying bins (as may forget to sanitise for the next person and themselves)
  • Make payments onsite for any ancillary items by debit/credit card
  • Last but not least, if you or anyone in your party is suspected of having symptoms or in close contact with someone who has COVID19 symptoms they should please not come – self isolate, get a test and be well 🙂

Canoe Hire Protocols

What we are doing different:

  • Thoroughly sanitising the gunwales, seats, ropes, paddles and buoyancy aids before and after use.
  • Giving you the usual briefing – but from 2m away
  • Minimising the number of boats going out each day to avoid crowding
  • Avoiding unnecessary contact on arrival – by taking payment in advance by phone and emailing terms for agreement.

We ask you to:

  • Follow instructions at all times, especially social distancing requirements.
  • Bring your own hand sanitiser (and other PPE if you want to of course)
  • Acknowledge agreement to our terms by replying to our email before arrival.
  • Be confidently mobile as we have had to adapt how we hold the boat to get you on and off.
  • Our mooring is fairly low so stepping in is generally easy and we are still able to steady the canoe for you.
  • Last but not least, if you or anyone in your party is suspected of having symptoms or in close contact with someone who has COVID19 symptoms they should please not come – self isolate, get a test and be well 🙂
