Fab Family Break This was our 3rd visit to Fourwinds and we will be back again next year. Debs, Hannah and Andy are all really friendly and helpful and the site has everything we need. We took out paddle boards and had a great time on the river, then had a big game of cricket. Perfect place for a relaxing family break.
Fantastic camping ⛺ This is a lovely friendly campsite, clean tidy and lovely staff. Lots of familys having fun, which was great to see. Me and my son enjoyed fishing in the river and watching people using the kayaks and the paddle boards. Definitely will be returning. Thank you
Good days Lovely shepards hut with plenty of room, shower, fridge, microwave, heater if needed, breakfast good value and at our time. Good clean site plenty of views.
Little Gem We stayed here for the night in our Motorhome as a stop off in October 2025 . Lovely little site – well kept and bijoux with nicely and thoughtfully designed places for eating /sitting outside which will have a lovely atmosphere in the day and was well lit in the evening giving a cosy ambience. We had an electric pitch – TV and internet access was excellent and no problems all round. This is a small site – only 2 toilets/showers but the block was spotlessly clean . The site offers glamping , a B&B and facilities for watersports especially Kayaking . They also offer a pre -ordered breakfast menu which was varied and a nice touch if required . We would have liked to have had more time spent looking around and exploring the locality especially the walks around the river but the weather was shocking ! Definitely would recommend if in the area as a really nice site . Thank you to the owners
Another amazing stay My second visit here whilst visiting family for my aunts memorial. This place just has it all, The couple who own it, Deb’s and Hannah are amazing people. Nothing is too much trouble at all. The place is immaculate and the racilities are brilliant. I stay in the shepherd’s hut when visiting but I do order a breakfast from the main house because I can’t be bothered to cook. Breakfast is brought on time and piping hot, the quality is really good and it sets you up for the day. I do now call this place home from home. I’ll be back again in January for my Birthday.
Beautiful little place We stayed in the Shepherds Hut for one night and it was lovely. Such an adorable little hut with everything you need for short stay. Breakfast was amazing and the site is lovely. I loved the cute little garden area that each hut had. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Fabulous family of 15 weekend We were a family group of 15, two families camping, and 3 families in the Shepherd huts. Fri to Mon. What a fantastic time we had. The people running it could not have been more friendly or helpful. The site is spotless with so many lovely touches. Just 2 mins from the river bu safety first there was a code locked gate to keep children safe. We had our own paddle boards and kayak but appreantly you can hire. 8 of the family made their way to march via the river while the older one s went by car and all met up at the pub. The site had a basket ball net, gorgeous ice creams, fire pits and wood to buy. A separate lovely area for families or just the children to gather to sit and chat, eat or play games. Spotless toilets and shower rooms. We had the benefit of the Pizza van arriving on the Friday, really recommend. Tesco’s superstore, Aldi, etc all close by (short drive) We loved it so much we have booked up again for next year Thank you so very much from the Gent/ Treagus family xx
Great location for messing about on the river! Lovely campsite, huge pitch and the offer of using a firepit free of charge. We brought our own with us so not needed but great to have! Nice flat pitches, we were using our roof tent on the van and was easy to pich up nice and level. The river was accessible through a gate at the end of the field and was lovely for paddle boarding and a swim. We stayed 2 nights and it was really lovely. Showers and toilets do get busy at peak times as other reviews mention, however they were kept immaculately clean and it was lovely to have showers/toilet in a building rather than a porta cabin! Andy welcomed us on arrival and was really friendly and helpful, there was hot food available as well as boat hire etc. Overall a lovely site and a great price!
Camp site review Brilliant camp site near the river so we could Paddle board with ease! Andy very knowledgable and accommodating to our queries. Pizzas and breakfast v good too. Only downside we found was just x2 loos/showers other than that we’ll be back!
Riverside mini break First time for us with our camper van to this site and was made to instantly feel very welcome by the hosts. We booked a grassed electric plot and it was huge, more than enough room for a very large awning siding with the van, also for a firepit (kindly provided free of charge) to be easily a safe distance away from van and awning. Electric is metered so only pay for what you use,3 nights and we literally used £2-3 what a bargain compared to unmetered pricing. Clean facilities, only slight niggle is there are only 2 toilets and 2 showers so best to avoid peek times but otherwise they served the propose well. We chose a day where the river was quite still and hired a canoe. There’s at least 2 pubs that have moorings so a cold drink can be enjoyed in your life jacket! We definitely plan to return in the near future and would recommend. Many thanks 😁
one of the best campsites We arrived at the start of a heat wave, so make sure you book the one in the shaded area if you are visiting in hot sunshine – its more than adeuqate to sit out in and relax even with your four legged friend. (aiming mon to fri) The shepherds huts are larger than others we have stayed in, has a really nice toilet/shower room (tip: keep the door and window closed all day and its like a cold room). Theres ample storage under the bed for cases, and a few side cupboards for essentials. The portable electric hob is more than adequate to get by on, as is the other electricals provided.. I would say the one thing that was missing was a fan (maybe a ceiling fan would be good?) however we took our own. The campsite is a fantastic campsite, theres numerous tent/caravan pitches, access to the river at the back, and i believe they do hire/sessions on kayaks and paddleboards. The local town isnt far away, plenty of shops/takeaways etc… We actually left a day early, solely because of our poor Frenchie strungling in nearly 30C heat, owners were understanding. I would hope to go back sometime with my inflatable kayak and use the campsite as a base of launch, cant really think of a negative thing…
A Hidden Gem A hidden gem.Peaceful, clean, welcoming. Choice of accommodation with parking and gardens. I stayed in the log cabin, very large, well equipped.Delicious breakfast was delivered to the cabin in the morning. Beautiful riverside walks.
a nice place to camp looking for a campsite where you fiel at home from the moment you check in than this is the place to be. Proper toilets and shower, very nice gardens and beautiful and spacious spots for camping. Also the price is nice for a stay in North Norfolk
Amazing place to stay! We spent an amazing weekend here, stayed in the log cabin which was spotless. The site is immaculate and the setting is perfect. Debs and Hannah couldn’t have been more welcoming and the Friday night pizza was delicious. We hired a canoe and had a fab paddle into the town for a pub lunch. I’m already planning my next visit!
Fourwinds campsite Just turned up and made very welcome.. Second time we have visited. Both times absolutely spotless. Reasonable rates for campervan. And A lovely walk along the river. And a very friendly ginger cat. Very large well kept camping field. And two lovely looking shepherds huts
An utterly delightful place! I was looking for somewhere to stay in March and after ruling out several hotels I came across this amazing place! Once I unloaded, a ridiculous amount for 1 night, I went for a walk along the river, accessible via a key padded gate and walked into March and back. I stayed in a shepherds hut for 1 night. I travel a lot for work, and feeling safe and comfortable is an absolute must when I’m away. The shepherds hut was an absolute delight. I was cosy, and felt very relaxed and safe. I was able to pop to Tesco which was a just a short drive away. Then was able to cook myself some food. There is a well equipped kitchen area with everything you need. The bed was large and comfortable, with plenty of pillows. The bedding smelt lush! I had brought a towel but there were towels in the hut, a lovely large bath towel which I used after my shower. There were tea and coffee, and even fresh milk in the fridge. I slept well, woke to bird song, opened the half door and had a relaxing leisurely breakfast before heading off to work. I didn’t want to leave! As a motorhome owner, I’ll be back with my husband to use the campsite. And am already looking forward to booking the shepherds hut again soon!
Tranquil, relaxing and just a super site. We take our touring caravan here most years even though it’s only half an hour from home. Hannah and Debs have made this place so lovely can’t fault anything. Never stayed in the Shepherds huts or the apartment but seen inside and they are super. Met the new (to us) Warden and his Wife this time and what a super friendly couple they are , really helpful and good to have on hand in case of any difficulties. Prices are excellent and backed up with great facilities. Site is tranquil and access to the river for walks or canoeing. Shhhh don’t tell anyone in case it gets too popular.
A Wonderful Place. I have just spent 4 nights here, in the log cabin and it was wonderful – even though I knew I was going self-catering, I forgot towels but not only had this eventuality been catered for, the cabin was well equipped with just about everything you would need to at least start your time off there. Located in a nice quiet area, just a short distance from thew town centre, I had a lovely stay and won’t hesitate to make it my first port of call if (more likely when!) I have to go back to the area.
Stunning. I just spent 2 nights here in a Shepherds Hut and it was beautiful. After travelling for a family funeral this place was just amazing. Very quiet and peaceful. Both Hannah and Debs were lovely and the breakfast is amazing. Thank you guys, will deffinately be back.
An amazing campsite A very warm welcome and wonderful tour. The campsite itself is lovely. Very scenic, homely and just an all round friendly feel. Told us about the different activities and walks you can go on and even recommended pubs to visit. The shop is well stocked with camping essentials and the showers and lavatories are spotless. Overall, this is an excellent campsite and I would highly recommend it to others and visit again.
Lovely Shepherds Hut in a great location Needed last minute accommodation in March for a meeting the next day, picked the luxury shepherds hut and had a fantastic stay. Welcomed on arrival and shown to the hut and was then explained where everything was, very clean and in a lovely location, would definitely stay again. 30 min traffic free walk into March along the river bank and quiet roads
First rate campsite, beautiful location, exceptional hosts. We have just returned from a perfect 3 day stay with family at fourwinds and are already planning to go back as soon as possible. Half of our party stayed in the cabin which is surprisingly spacious. The bed and sofa bed are extremely comfortable and along with the lovely soft bedding ensured great quality sleep. The bathroom has a good sized shower with plenty of hot water and is really nicely done out. The remainder of the party camped and were really pleased with the generous sized plot. With easy access to electricity ( paid for with very reasonably priced cards) The provision of a bespoke fire pit was an excellent touch and really added to the evening atmosphere. We enjoyed days of non stop river fun, hiring out the canoes, the pedalo and the paddleboards. And we were also surprised to enjoy a swim in old man Nene! The atmosphere on the camp is incredible and we enjoyed playing cricket and rounders with other holidaymakers. Debbie, Hannah and the team are the perfect hosts. Extemeley welcoming, there if you need anything but by no means intrusive. They also put on a tasty, locally sourced breakfast at an excellent price. Highly recommended.
Beautiful Shepard’s hut We came to four winds for a two day getaway and it didn’t disappoint what a lovely tranquil site the Shepard’s hut was cozy and has everting we needed access to the river for kayaking was easy and staff are super friendly although it’s a long way to get anywhere on the river it’s a beautiful journey thank you
A little piece of heaven Wow! Wow and did I say it Wow! We had a truly amazing stay, one night just wasn’t enough. We were greeted like family, and immediately made to feel very welcome, were shown to our shepherds hut and fell in love, we were even welcomed by the family cat, Jaffa. During our stay it rained but that didn’t put a dampener on our time here (pun intended) because the hut was so cosy. It would have been nice to have had a canopy that we could have still sat out in the warmth and the peace during the rain (but understand that is because we are weird) It was so peaceful and relaxing, the ideal get away from the rat race and just be for a while. We paid extra for breakfast, and it was one of the best breakfasts I have had in a long time, delivered piping hot to our hut on a wet morning, well worth it. The only problem is we had to leave, but we hope to be back again soon and for longer
Perfect retreat Absolutley loved my stay. The shepherds hut was very cosy and comfortable. I had two of the best nights sleep in years. It was quiet and tranquil, the Wi-fi worked perfectly, the en-suite was bigger than I’ve had in some hotels. Very dog friendly and there is a lovely walk along the river where the dogs can have a free run. For any birdwatchers like me there are a multitude of species and you get a very up close view of many of them.
Four days of peace . Just returned after a wonderful four day holiday . The apartment was excellent the owners and staff were very helpful and friendly . Definitely would recommend . Well done FourWinds . Lovely quiet spot , fishing was fantastic . Look forward to returning next year .
Lovely little gem This is a small friendly site with good size pitches, we were even supplied with a fire pit for our pitch. All the staff were friendly and helpful. There’s a little shop selling kindling, fire wood, ice creams, coffees and a few other items. The facilities were more than adequate and very clean. We would highly recommend the breakfast box! All in all a lovely weekend and somewhere we would return to.
Amazing couple of days Brilliant site, easy to access, good sized pitches close to superb amenities. Very friendly and helpful staff overseen by the boss, Jaffa the cat! Hired a canoe from the site and took a trip down river to March. Nice easy walk into town as well. Fire pit and hook up on site. Also option to order cooked breakfast which was great for packing up morning. Will definitely be going again
Beautiful campsite with friendly, helpful staff with easy access to the river. A beautifully kept site with friendly and helpful staff close to the river with jetty. A lovely spot to walk and paddle board from. A metered ehu meant our 5 nights cost just £3 extra in total! Easy to walk into the town of March to access public transport to be able to visit other locations. Will definitely be returning.
Lovely site in a good location Lovely open site with access to the river bank. Warden very friendly and helpful. Bacon sandwich for breakfast, ice cream from the small shop, good weather – what could be better. Clean facilities. Level Pitch. Electricity on a card, first time I’ve seen that but the fairest way to charge for it. Close to March, but didn’t have time to walk along the river into town, also close to RSPB reserves. Very likely to visit again
Sunny stay in the Apartment Always a fantastic stay and we were also incredibly lucky with the sunshine too this weekend! Stayed in the apartment and have to say perfect accommodation for a lazy breakfast before a day out, and evening drinks!! Everything you need, spacious, clean and a home from home. We hired canoes and took them out to March town for a pint!! A beautiful afternoon out. Ordered in takeaway Sat night from Stacked and Loaded – amazing burgers and quick delivery to site! Thank you Debs, Hannah & Jaffa for an incredible stay. Looking forward to returning in August x
Excellent experience. Clean and very comfortable. Fabulous friendly staff. Beautiful grounds. And great breakfast. I would recommend Four Winds to everyone. Close to town. Easily accessible to taxi. A lovely area to meet other people also staying at the property.
Great camping spot, with excellent facilities Stayed in our own campervan on the campsite. The metered electric hook-up was excellent value and helps reduce overall costs. The shower, toilets and pot washing areas are spotless and lots of hot water. The shower is by token which again is good value and keeps them quiet as some will use their own facilities. We saw some wild deer in the fields near by and a woodpecker visited the pitch next to our van daily to hunt for food. Hosts were really nice and made us feel welcome. There is a short walk along the river and through some nice riverside gardens on the way into March. Overall great relaxing stay and would definitely visit again
Lovely quiet get-away Beautiful place, on the river Nene , very clean spacious, facilities clean n spacious. Hot showers via token, delicious hot home cooked breakfast booked night before, to collect atva time preferred, with locally sourced produce. Deb n hannah are lovely friendly host. Would definitely return .. highly recommended
Fishing trip made perfect This b&b was perfect ! The beds comfortable and the bathroom lush and made very special for me as I’m a bath lover . My husband reported that the shower was great too. We both slept extremely well as really quiet and peaceful . We would not hesitate to come again. Thank you Hannah and Deb
Weekend away with friends After a brilliant camping trip with the kids in the summer, returned for a weekend in the B&B to catch up with uni friends! Spacious, clean, cozy room with the best Full English breakfast delivered straight to the door. Would highly recommend ordering one! We drove to the North Norfolk coast for a hike and stopped on the way back at a pub nearby the campsite (The Sportsman) for an amazing Sunday roast. Debs and Hannah were super helpful in planning our stay and as always, so kind and friendly. Obviously a little shout out to Jaffa the cat too! Thanks again for another memorable stay. Will be back again camping when the sun is shining!!!
Camping and kayaking When booking with Debs and Hannah they remembered us from our initial enquiry, which was a nice touch. The welcome on arrival was really warm and friendly, even though we arrived later than expected. The pitches are spacious and flat. Prices are high season £25, low season £20. We liked that the electric was metered and paid for what we used rather than an flat additional fee. The site overall was nice, clean and well maintained. The close proximity to the river and free use of their mooring to launch our kayak was a plus too. Showers are 50p for a 6 minute shower. The shower was nice and warm with good water pressure. There are washing up facilities. Also there are washing machines and tumble dryers to use (at a cost). You can order various breakfast/tea/coffee options onsite at a reasonable cost. We fed back on a couple of improvements that could be made to the site regarding the loos/basin facilities. Our suggestions are already in the recent owners thoughts/plans. The loo situation wasn’t a massive problem for us as the site wasn’t busy, but I would imagine if the site was even at half capacity, it could be problematic. The loos/showers are unisex. Overall it was very positive stay and we wish Debs and Hannah all the best in the future.
Comfy stay in lovely surroundings Lovely shepherds hut in a beautiful setting. Warm, cozy with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Friendly hosts and just a 2 minute walk to the river. They have a very friendly cat called Jaffa 😺
Jaffa the hut Four winds is a quiet, relaxing space to stay at. On first sight it felt as if you were driving into a truck stop, but as you turn into the site, you enter a different world. We stayed in a shepherds hut which was comfortable, with most needs catered for, with a log fire, king size bed, running water, toilet and decent shower. We were checked on by the resident cat “Jaffa” who just likes to make sure everythings ok (should have his own social media and Facebook page). Had a lovely breakfast, delivered to our door, and a totally relaxing time, (which is why we went in the first place) I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to unwind. A full five stars to the staff and management. A place well worth the visit.
Lovely break in a shepherds hut We had a lovely well equipped four night stay in the shepherds hut, everything you need is catered for, clean and comfortable, everything around the site is well layed out and sign posted, eg where to put rubbish and recycling, a quiet well maintained retreat with choices of stay including b&b, shepherds huts and camping, friendly and welcoming. Breakfast options looked to be lovely although we didn’t have during our stay
Everything you could want from a campsite…. And more! We had the best time at Four Winds. It was out first visit to the site and the area, and it did not disappoint. The site itself is very big and the pitch sizes are massive! More than enough space for everyone. The owners are very lovely, helpful and friendly, nothing was too much. There is a small shop which stocks wood and kindling for the free fire pits dotted around the site (reused washing drums). It also has chocolate, drinks, and ice cream, games to hire and more. You can also hire canoes or a pedalo, which we did with our dogs and had a great time. The area is beautiful and caoeing down the river was great fun! The toilets and showers are well maintained and clean. On top of all of this, you can order breakfast to be made for pick up in the morning, plus proper coffee! We did this, and it was lovely. Well worth the money. We will definitely be back and are so pleased to find a campsite that we intend on visiting time and time again. Thanks so much for everything!
Great site Fantastic site run by incredibly helpful and welcoming owners. We stayed in the camping area, which is well maintained and allows plenty of space per pitch, meaning you never feel on top of each other. Logs are available for campfires, which was a lovely way to spend the evenings. The site leads directly onto the river, and it is a lovely row or paddle into March. We used our paddle boards and kayak, but you can hire from Four Winds. We have visited several times now and would highly recommend it.
Great stop-over The cabin is so much larger than suggested in the photos. Extra ordinary good value for money: comfy soft furnishings and bed and luxurious bathroom. Very attentive hosts who suggested suitable dog walks. Recommend without hesitation!
What a little gem! We stayed here for one night in our camper van and enjoyed the whole experience. The booking was easy and lots of helpful information was sent via email, we received a warm and friendly welcome on arrival and the owners were never far away if you needed assistance. The site itself was very quiet even though there were a number of campers and tents there when we stayed and the toilet and shower facilities were of a very high standard and spotlessly clean. The site is next to the river and offers kayak and canoe hire. There is also a thoughtfully stocked shop selling little treats to make your stay extra special. Needless to say, I would definitely recommend!
Wonderful small friendly camping The campsite is small friendly clean and quiet. The showers are lovely and hot. The toilets and showers are always clean and always stocked with toilet paper. It was impressive how well the staff kept up to it. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were very helpful. The pizza was amazing too. Perfect for what we wanted. we took the opportunity to kayak and swim in the river, this was a great experience. The site situated on the river. The river is very quiet and still with a gentle flow. Swimming was lovely although a little awkward to get in and out and would benefit from having a later or steps.
Absolutely amazing clean friendly campsite Firstly what amazing hosts.. the Friday night pizza was delicious. Stayed in the cabin which had everything you need for a trip away. The campsite has a range of accommodation to suit all. Wash rooms were very clean for the campers nicely painted with a warm vibe. Had a jog through to March following the river which is a great track. You can cycle for miles.the shop has delicious vegan ice-cream tubs which i loved it was very refreshing. Had a little go in the 2 person canoe which was fun and just so peaceful after indulging in the yummy vegetarian breakfast.. i would recomend the local boot sale which is just 4 miles away what bargains and fresh fruit I gained from the short drive away. I will defo return for more of the same..thank you girls.
Amazing – this place is the best Just back from another amazing stay at Four winds – the campsite and facilities are amazing and the hosts are fabulous people too – they go above and beyond to help and are super friendly . As a family we have been meeting here annually and Four winds never fail to disappoint – it caters for all our families accommodation needs ( camping , camper-van , apartment and lodge ) – they are all well presented . A few new extras noted this year which again are fabulous – Friday night pizzas very delicious… and a lovely lodge / shop with goodies . Can’t wait to return next year Thank you Four Winds for allowing us to make happy family memories.
Working away Met by very friendly owner on arrival who gave me all the information I needed regarding finding somewhere for dinner , lovely room very comfortable bed , beautiful peaceful location , would definitely return
Fishing and Ginger Cat Lovely site stayed overnight as a stop over after a week on the road. Great to use the washing machine and hot showers. Access to River Nene where we fished for several hours. Lovely Ginger Cat 😺….
Fabulous I needed somewhere to stay for a weekend visit with my sister and the thought of the usual motel type places made my heart sink. I came across Four Winds Leisure online and the only availability was Bed & Breakfast option. Prices were very reasonable and I pre-ordered breakfast. Well, what can I say – what a fabulous place. I walked into the room and felt as if I had been wrapped in a comfort blanket. Beautiful decor, spotless, quiet. Lovely bathroom. I wanted for nothing. Breakfast beautiful and hosts lovely and responsive to requests. Beautiful surroundings. I will definitely be looking this place up again when I need a base. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.
Great place Stayed on the hardstanding in the campsite. Fabulous little site with clean facilities. The shepherds huts looked great although we didn’t stay in them. Will definitely look forward to visiting again.
Brilliant stay. I will return! Lovely place! Great hosts. I had a very welcoming stay with fab breakfast. Lovely well appointed room and bathroom (with a bath!). All topped off with beautiful evening walk by the river from the property that has its own private mooring.
Excellent campsite and hosts. Well what can I say? The hosts are fantastic, very friendly, very helpful, and nothing is too much trouble. The campsite is very well maintained with a electric hook up option. The walk into March town is a lovely walk. I cant recommend the campsite enough.
Lovely accommodation with amazing food. Myself, sister and mum had a 2 night stay in the one bedroom apartment. It was a lovely comfortable stay, which was very roomy and well thought out. Hannah and Deb were wonder hosts and cooked us some amazing homemade pizzas and breakfasts. Would thoroughly recommend thank you.
Great break We had a lovely stay in the log cabin, warm and welcome hosts, had everything we needed. The wood fired pizza’s on Friday nights are fantastic. Lovely 2 mile walk along the river to get into town, passing beautiful and quirky houses along the way. My dog is tired out and me and my husband are both totally chilled.
Wonderful stay Wow what can I say a beautiful place with beautiful character, the hosts were lovely and are there for any questions should you need them but they leave you to enjoy your weekend peacefully. We stayed in one of the shepherds huts and even though the weather was minuses outside it was so toasty!! Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again! Beautiful river walks that lead into March where we found a nice pub and enjoyed a peaceful weekend! 😍
Perfect break. We loved it We stayed in one of the shepherds hut. A lovely friendly greeting from Debbie Everything you could need was sitting perfectly in the hut. Spotlessly clean, so warm and inviting. Log burner inside but the radiator was more than enough. Table and chairs just outside, free parking and free WiFi. We ordered a full breakfast from the menu inside the hut…. OMG…it was sooo tasty and all locally sourced. It arrived lovely and hot as well. It was just the most peaceful and gorgeous place to stay…will we be back….,100% yes!! Very highly recommended.
Batteries recharged I was gifted a night away in one of the shepherd’s huts by my daughter, and I loved it. I was in real need of an escape after a very busy year, and this was perfect. Debs was really welcoming on my arrival and nothing was too much trouble. My hut was super cosy, and I forced me to unwind and relax. Would highly recommend
Beautifully kept campsite in the Fens. Four winds campsite is a little gem. Everything you need is there. Facilities were kept very clean, water and Elson point very near to the pitch. Debra made us feel very welcome. Thank you we will be back. Kev and Jo
Lovely stopover I had a stop overnight here on my way to a meeting and really enjoyed my stay. Warm relaxed welcome from the site manager who gave me a tour, told me where the nearest Tesco’s was and how to walk into town. Generous pitches and a great location. I ordered a bacon buttie and coffee for breakfast (really good text system) which was lovely and good value. Plenty of wildlife to see and a very friendly campsite cat! Will definitely be back.
Great campsite and self catering accommodation. Great camping visit with a family group. Big pitches. Well kept site. Nice and quiet listening to the owls at night. Good to have the campfire facilities. It was ideal as one couple who no longer camp were able to book into the lovely self catering accommodation too. Ideal for mixed preferences. Thanks Debs and Hannah for your hospitality (and tasty cooked breakfasts). Look forward to seeing you next time.
Lovely First Time Camping Experience We really enjoyed our night’s stay at Fourwinds on a spacious pitch with campfire facilities. Highlights of the stay included canoe rental up the river to March and an evening by the camp fire. Friendly and informative hosts helped us to feel welcome.and we would definitely recommend the camp site to anyone especially those looking to camp for the first time!
Stopover on route I chose this site as a ccc member and I travel out in my motorhome for a good period of the year, I am at a age where peaceful is good and this fits the bill. This is the first time I have used a payment meter for electricity and then tokens for the Shower, but 6 mins is enough, you wished your children used this. The roads around March are busy with Farm traffic and Haulage vehicles which on a bike can be a challenge The town has some excellent Pubs and eating houses, with all the large stores to spend your money at. I might return in the summer months when the place is buzzing but open all year peace and quiet then this is the Place
Lovely clean, friendly campsite. We had a lovely 2 nights. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean and warm. Pitches were very spacious and flat with firepits The campsite backs on to the river, ideal for your own craft or hiring one of the onside canoes. They were also happy for some family to come and visit me. Dog friendly.
Perfect campsite, amazing amenities, gorgeous location We’ve just spent a long weekend with friends at Fourwinds & just ahd the best time. Its quite a small site, but this makes it intimate, no queues & allows for the owners to really make your trip memorable. We camped for three nights, really comfortably. With electric hook up & a big firepit included. The toilet/shower blocks are inside, making them warm. Clean & I didn’t queue for anything once. They have canoe hire & a river/canal at the end of the site, which all vistors have access too. We took a canoe into March, had a few pints, lunch, paddled back, absolute bliss. This will keep me coming back. Wasn’t anywhere near as strenuous as I thought it would be & was absolutley idlyic on the water. Our toddler spotted all manner of birds, animals, insects, fish & we even stopped to pick some fat balckberries too. We had a cracking breakfast on Sunday morning, for a bargain price, they even offered a plantbased/vegan breakfast too. It was hearty & delicious. Our toddler had a wonderful time, running free all weekend. She loved picking berries & flowers from the hedge rows, stealing tomatoes from the gardens (sorry!) & chasing Jaffa the cat round. The canal/river is gated off, so kids can’t accidentally wander off & the main road is also gated, so they can’t wander into the road. Over all it felt like a very safe & friendly campsite for kids. We had a wonderful time, will definitley be back – thank you for making our little holiday perfect!
Tranquil camping gem! This is the best campsite I’ve been to – indoor toilets and showers, clean and it’s by the river for swimming and rowing. I hired a canoe with friends and we rowed to the Town centre, moored up, had a look round the town and rowed back. Loved it!! Had a peaceful but fun few days. I will be back!
Four winds Absolutely beautiful place, we stayed in the apartment , so spacious and spotlessly clean, everything you need is provided. The site itself couldn’t be better, campers, motor homes, caravans ideal for family stays as well as others, we recommend a visit you won’t be disappointed .
An idyllic place to make lasting memories! This is the fourth time we’ve visited Fourwinds campsite but the first time with the new owners. They were so kind, welcoming and helpful – even jump started my car for me when I’d drained the battery! The campsite is very spacious, peaceful and well maintained and each pitch has a fire pit. You can access the river at the back easily via a coded gate and the pretty town of March is about a 40 minute sail/walk away. We took our own canoe and paddle boards but you can hire canoes from reception, tie them up at March and go and explore. There are two toilets, two shower cubicles and a washing up area which are all kept clean – an idyllic place to make fantastic memories.
Mini break with the kids Fantastic 3 night camping stay with my 3 children!! Debs and Hannah are amazing hosts and I’m already booked to come back with my eldest for a birthday treat later this year to try out a Shepherds Hut!! Would definitely recommend taking out the canoes, so much fun! The kids loved it (and me too!!) I also took the kids to Skylark (a garden centre nearby) which was a great day out with lots to do. The campsite pitches are spacious and toilets/showers clean! Great little shop onsite for snacks and very close to Tesco and KFC. The kids also loved Jaffa, the campsite’s cat!! A lovely stay and would highly recommend!! 💕
Amazing hospitality Check in was super easy, pitch sizes are huge, toilets and showers and clean and of high quality. Had coffee and croissants from the cafe (£3 for a coffee and fresh cooked croissant) which was delicious. Rented a canoe for 2 hours and stopped in March to grab a beer – friendly locals and fabulous canoes! Amazing people running an amazing campsite with great hospitality Massive shout out to host for making a one night stay so memorable
Camping in Style This was an absolutely ideal site for our family to enjoy a weekend. There were eleven of us altogether with two couples sleeping in their camper vans, their children in tents whilst the oldest two loved the luxury of the Shepherd’s Hut, which we found extremely comfortable and had all the facilities that we would need. Activities included using the camp site canoes and swimming in the River Nene. There was also a delightful walk into March centre. It was a superb, relaxing time with barbecues, fire pits and the sighting of Tawny and Little Owls in the evening, which perched on adjacent buildings and watched the proceedings.
Relaxing weekend at Fourwinds! Thank you so much for a lovely mini break in your apartment this weekend! We’re not seasoned campers so the apartment on your campsite was perfect for us as we got to experience the peaceful location by the river on the beautiful grounds of your campsite but with the luxury of your perfect little apartment. It had everything we needed and felt like home from home. It slept 5 people very comfortably. The kids loved the campsite shop with lots of goodies available and it was great being able to order breakfast if we wanted it. We would definitely recommend hiring canoes and stopping off at The Ship pub for refreshments! We had a relaxing few days and were made to feel very welcome by the owners Hannah and Debs and would have no hesitation in recommending FourWinds to friends and family for a mini staycation to get away from the hustle and bustle.
Great stay Amazingly relaxing campsite with very friendly and accommodating owners. Canoes are great! After seeing a previous negative review regarding late night arrivals, I’m sure not letting people arrive after midnight is appreciated by all others campers. Keep up the good work!
Shepherds hut and canoes! We had an amazing 2 night stay in the Shepherds hut. The huts are nice and secluded with own bbq. There is lots of space for two people with private shower and toilet. You can buy breakfast to collect at a time of your request with lots of different options or available but there is also a toaster and microwave in the hut! There is a shop to buy snacks, ice cream and cold drinks You can hire canoes along the river for a few hours and even stop off at the pub on the way back. No request was too much and the hosts were kind, polite and friendly throughout. We will defiantly be back!
Rude and poor communication from the site This campsite need to understand that how they communicated with me and my family was very upsetting, not to mention, odd. I took my two sons and my friends daughter to set up. We were told on the phone that they would make a special case for my friend who was turning up after their normal 8pm cut off point. It was agreed that she could park just outside the main campsite and walk on. Very good, no problem we thought. After setting up our two tents and settling in I was accosted by a lady who told me that the later arrival “was not happening” – not in any polite way – very aggressively. I was very taken aback. The cut off time is very clear on the website which is why I asked on the phone before booking, we would have chosen to go elsewhere if it was a problem, but I was assured it was absolutely fine. Someone on the office went out on a limb and the person that shouted at me wasn’t happy about it. This campsite need to own their mistakes and put the customer first. They should have just apologised for their initial communication and offered some form of refund for the campers who could not now come on the Friday evening due to their mistake. What was the most upsetting was that the campsite staff made me out to be a liar – that the conversation on the phone had never happened. I have been camping many, many years and have never been spoken to like this. What was doubly upsetting was that we witnessed cars coming and going off the campsite until at least 11pm that night. Please improve the way you speak to paying customers or I think you’ll find more reviews like this one.
Fantastic Glamping Experience Fantastic campsite and B&B. We stayed in the Shepard’s Huts, which were everything you could want as a camper – double bed, en-suite bathroom with shower, kitchen area, tv and electric, as well as a lovely outdoor patio area with a small bbq. Hannah and Deborah were great hosts and went above and beyond, as did the wardens who sorted us out with thee-person canoes to take down the river into town for a beer and some fish and chips (a must-do for any future guest). There’s also a very handy on-site shop selling things like bbq kits etc, which is a great idea. We will definitely be back soon.
Family get together Hired the apartment, log cabin and 3 pitches for a family get together. This site is beautiful. Hannah, Debs and her team look after you so well . Kayaking on the river is amazing in a stunning location …. Highly recommend a stay here 🙂 oh… try the campers breakfast… lovely!
A weekend away Stayed over 1st and 2nd of July 2022 as I was doing a skydive nearby. The shepherd’s hut I stayed in was so cozy and comfortable. Everything you needed was in that hut, shower, kitchen, tv, king size bed, wifi. I purchased the full English breakfast on both mornings, excellent. On site shop for choccy, ice cream and drinks. Canoe’s, fishing, camping if you like tents. The owners are friendly and helpful, the whole site was immaculate. All I can say is come and try it for yourself, you will not be disappointed. Will be going back soon.
Amazing campsite! Can’t wait to come back. Amazing campsite with shepherds huts and B&B We stayed with friends in the two shepherd huts and lodge. Accommodation was lovely, very clean and came with milk, tea, coffee and some very tasty biscuits. The campsite is lovely, we rented the canoes when we arrived; a great way to spend the afternoon. Each hut had BBQs and coal and kindling was available to purchase. Hannah and Deborah couldn’t have been better hosts. They were welcoming as soon as we arrived, and made us very at home. The expertly good breakfasts delivered to our doors were the cherry on the top. We’ll definitely be visiting again as soon as possible.
Great weekend in a relaxing environment We, 2 families, stayed over a Saturday night and had adjacent spacious pitches for our tents. Lots of space to play games. Friendly owners and well organised. Good facilities, including a small shop selling marshmallows for fire pits. A range of breakfast.options are available for purchase. Good value and beautiful weather!
A tucked away gem in the heart of the Fens Oh my goodness, what an incredible find! I honestly couldn’t recommend this place enough. We stayed over the Jubilee weekend with my family and my friend’s family. We were concerned it might be really busy and noisy that weekend but we didn’t have to worry. There was plenty of space, really generous pitches and the site clearly attracts very considerate campers who care about nature and respect those around them. The kids loved running around the massive field and it felt very safe. The facilities were absolutely spotless (the cleanest loos I have EVER seen at a campsite!!). The hosts couldn’t do enough for you, it had such a friendly, can do feel about it. And the cherry on the cake was hiring out canoes for a paddle into March and back – just blissful! We will definitely return. I think I have found a new favourite!
Fantastic friendly campsite We stayed at the campsite over the jubilee weekend and had a great time. It’s a lovely campsite, very clean spacious and friendly. Lots of room for plenty of tents with space in between each site. We stayed in the apartment which was clean, well stocked and nicely put together with a huge stylish bathroom. There’s plenty to do in the area or you can just laze about and get fresh croissants delivered to your door every morning. Debs and Hannah are wonderful hosts, nothing is too much trouble and they are really keen to ensure that all guests have the best stay. We heartily recommend this campsite and will definitely be back
Camping by the river Stayed for a couple of nights over the jubilee bank holiday. What a fantastic little site. Family friendly and very helpful. Nothing was to much trouble. Proper toilets and showers. No thunder boxes. Great walking along the river. Will definitely be going back.
Weekend break to visit mum on her birthday!! Great site close to the old course of the River Nene in March. Offering water activities if you want them, great strolls along the riverbank or just a peaceful resting place. This is the 4th time we have stayed on this site and I can only say it gets better each time!! Now they are offering a ‘take your own plate’ breakfast and light bites from the shop. Lovely people and would definitely stay again…
Excellent campsite with access to river for kayaking or SUP and on cycle route. We stayed for six nights in our caravan. We were welcomed and well looked after by Debs and the wardens. This is a friendly small site with good facilities. We appreciated that you pay for the electric that you use – very good value. The showers were clean and had plenty of hot water. The campsite has a friendly farm cat called Jaffa who enjoyed a lap or relaxing on the awning mat. We cycled both into March and along the local roads. We also brought our own kayak and we were able to paddle along the Old River Nene. The river was very quiet and you could either paddle into March and visit shops or a waterside pub, or go into the countryside in the other direction. The only challenge was the wind – the fens are very open to wind but we had a few days which were calmer and perfect for paddling the kayak. The site has two very roomy shepherds huts and a wooden lodge which can be hired. In the big campsite field they have space for family groups with a fire pit. The pitches were a generous size. We booked a hard standing with electric. Very level. It is not far to visit WWT Welney if you are a bird watcher. On a rainy day Ely is not far away for a visit to the town and cathedral. We will definitely visit again.
Home from home next to the river! I can’t rate this place high enough! I booked the apartment for a few days a week for several weeks as I was working in the area. The apartment is superb, spotless, comfortable and a great home from home with smart TV, space and really a comfortable bed not to mention the huge. The owners Deb’s and Hannah and of course Jaffa the cat made me feel so welcome and the breakfast they offer of local produce was see outstanding. This is the only place I would stay in the area!
Four winds Han and Debs went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and welcoming. Such a peaceful location – we are definitely returning to kayak along the river! Awesome breakfast too! Han and Debs new management highly recommended – thank you!
Loved our shepherd’s hut! This was really good. The hut was beautiful, with a big and mega-comfortable bed, decent kitchen and dining space (though it’s for heating things up, toasting bread etc — don’t plan on doing any proper cooking) and nice little bathroom, plus a lovely outdoor space with a barbecue. The owners are friendly and helpful, Jaffa the campsite cat is adorable (I nearly kidnapped him), and the WiFi is excellent. Highly recommended.
Fabulous trip Me and my family stayed in the log cabin for the night as we were seeing family the next day brilliant fabulous customer service we will great night sleep shower was amazing for a mixture tape definitely be returning 5star
Just loved our stay: relaxed in quality! Stayed in one of the 2 Shepherds huts. Whilst novel and “dog friendly”, the accommodation was immaculately clean. Found everything we needed was provided for a relaxing break: quality complimentary toiletries, biscuits drinks and jug of fresh milk. Private access to “Old Nene” Riverside walk just across the camping field. Chose the option of a cooked breakfast delivered to the hut: DELICIOUS. Cannot wait to visit again!
Camping holiday Took our new to us folding camper to four winds to for a week to try it out. Right from the start every one there was helpful and friendly. Lovely site. Would recommend to any one. Will be going back😉.
Caravan Pitch Just had an excellent weekend staying on the campsite. Good facilities, good price very friendly and helpful staff, dog friendly and great location with river access. Pleasant river walk into town or hire a canoe and paddle into town or take your own canoe as we did. Can’t ask for more 🙂
Relaxing Caravan Stay Had a lovely relaxing stay, helped by superb weather, the Wardens were very friendly and obliging and on the whole all other site users were great, the exception being the party that played very loud music one afternoon and repeatedly broke the site rules on another matter, despite being warned ( in a polite manner) by the wardens ( this matter was resolved). the other criticisms we would have is the location of the fresh water tap, and the tightness of the pitch we were on in respect to the access to the shepherds hideaways and the log cabin ( we had pedestrian and vehicle traffic passing just feet away from our awning
Caravan stay What a lovely location and facilities. Unfortunately we were greeted and given a rushed introduction which was followed by a rude service by the manager when any questions were asked. What a shame the owners were away that weekend. Reserving the canoe and hoping we would get an afternoon on the river we were again received with rude service at 1.50 with canoes for 2pm and a clear message that the manager would have other things to do after 4pm and can’t be waiting around for people I suggested we just go for an hour again Ryde reply. I got the impression this manager is not being paid enough or is just not interested in his role at the site anymore. This was a real shame as I work in the travel industry and hoped to recommend to fellow group travellers in the area. I was hoping to return to the lodges and shepherd hut but unfortunately I won’t be.
Couldn’t wish for better! We stayed for 5 nights at Fourwinds B&B. It was a very large room, well equipped with a bathroom for our sole use nearby. It certainly exceeded our expectations. Bev and John were perfect hosts, on hand if we needed them, nothing was too much trouble. We have already booked again for next year!
Our favourite campsite Fourwinds is possibly our favourite campsite and we visit often to relax. The best parts for us are the huge pitches with fire pits, the river for paddle sports and a spot of wild swimming. The toilets and showers are always really clean and well looked after as is the pot washing area. You can hire kayaks to paddle down into March or have a explore on Nene in the other and also try your hand at archery. Everyone is so friendly and I love having a chat about the resident cat who I absolutely love. I 100% recommend staying here, it recharges me for the week ahead.
Beautiful friendly campsite… highly recommended! This site was recommended to us by friends and what a great place it is! We stayed for the weekend in our motorhome the pitch had more than enough space and all well kept. The gardens and communal areas are beautiful like a secret garden with plenty of space. The facilities very clean and tidy. But what makes this place special is the people who run it. So friendly, always around to help answer any questions and always smiling. The site backs onto the river Nene and they hire out kayaks and canoes at very reasonable prices. We have our own inflatable 2person kayak, but hired one from the site as there were three of us. My mother in law didn’t feel up to the adventure on the river and although it was very last minute… literally as we were going to pick it up, they gave us a refund no problem. They even lent us a spare paddle when I realised I’d left the handles to ours at home! They also had archery and air rifle shooting to have a go at with proceeds going to charity. A really lovely site with such a friendly homely feel to it! Thanks again John, Beverly, Paul. A fantastic stay and would highly recommend it!
Shepards Hut What a lovely place to stay, clean and everything you could need inside the Shepard Hut. John and Beverly are very friendly and make a delicious breakfast delivered to the door for a very reasonable price! Lovely area and a quick walk to the river where my partner was able to fish. 1 hour away from Cambridge City – very easy drive as well. I would recommend staying! Had a lovely relaxing two days.
Great stay Stayed in log cabin with 2 grandkids and our schnouzer….excellent stay….all needs are met here….comfortable and well equipped…the owners are very welcoming and helpful….we will come again definitely…location is very convenient…quiet yet not too far from shops and amenities.
Excellent Stayed in our motorhome. Site was spotlessly clean ,facilities second to none, just like being at home. Staff fantastic, couldn’t be more helpful, along with very nice owner. Thanks for a great stay, thoroughly recommend,we’ll be back
Hidden gem Very welcoming host. Breakfast was plentiful and hot. Accommodation is part of a caravan/motor home park, but is in a separate annexe to the main house. Peaceful surroundings- canal at the bottom of the caravan field. Biggest bath I’ve ever seen, and we’ll themed decor to the natural world/local area surrounding it. All in all would definitely recommend and would return.
Campervan stay This was our first visit to Fourwinds Leisure and we were not disappointed. The site is quiet and meticulously clean. Bev, John, Paul and Pauline are friendly and helpful. Would recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet getaway.
Overnight bb What a lovely place to stay. I was greeted by a lovely lady who was looking after the owners while they were out for the day and shown my room which was lovely. I had a lovely hot shower in a nice big bathroom which was so clean it sparkled. Then went for a walk to the river which made me want to grab my fishing gear out. Which I did. For any one wanting to fish I had some nice rudd on bread. It was so quiet and the scenery is awe inspiring. In the morning I had to treat.myself to another walk along the river before venturing back in for a proper English breakfast and to meet the owners who are both smashing people. Overall a great place to stay and I will be going back. P.s they have plenty of room for tents and caravans and are very accommodating.
Came for the kayaks…stayed for the shortbread Having previously stayed at Fourwinds last October, I wanted to return this year to make use of the kayak facilities (a separate review has been submitted under Fourwinds Canoe Hire). This visit I chose to stay in the other shepherds hut which has all the same fabulous facilities as The Hideaway but the bed is a standard double bed rather than a cabin bed. Check in was easy and although there were lots of caravans this weekend, everyone has plenty of space. Breakfast is available but I made my own continental style breakfast which I enjoyed outside on the table and chairs provided. A bbq is provided and also you are able to order food to be delivered from local eateries and details can be found on the Fourwinds website. The huts have a microwave, fridge and table top hob should you wish to cook your own food. Fourwinds is a fantastic location and is well run by the owners Bev and John. Highly recommended and look forward to returning again soon.
Lovely Stay in the Shepherds Hut We had an absolutely amazing stay at Fourwinds Leisure. The hut is so cozy and the wood fire is a brilliant touch! Bev and John are brilliant hosts – they were so attentive and helpful. Thank you for our stay!
The Perfect Hideaway Another location that needs an extra star because 5 isn’t enough! I stayed in one of the Shepherds Hut for an overnight staycation. Check in was easy and after unloading, I took a stroll across the camping field to the private gate which gets you access to the River Nene. Canoes and kayaks are available to hire Apr-Sep so looking forward to visiting next year to try that out. The hut is warm and cosy and has everything you need. Cooking facilities are available but I opted for the breakfast delivery which was lovely! Thank you to Bev and John for a lovely stay.
Relaxing break Fourwinds has a really nice location, with friendly owners, who were very helpful. It’s a short (15 minute) walk to the town of March via the riverbank walk. Locals seem very helpful too. We look forward to coming back soon. Peter & Anita.
Highly recommended with luxury feel – great value! Our hosts were quick to respond to queries and ensured we had everything that made our stay comfortable and quiet – great optional breakfast too beautifully presented; we especially appreciated the thoughtful details to accommodate people during the pandemic, so having fresh milk ready in our mini fridge was great. The room was immaculate and bathroom of very high quality, made our stay more luxurious than expected. Highly recommended.
A delightful shepherd’s hut for the night I was visiting the local area and stayed in their shepherd’s hut. It was an idyllic stay (the weather helped as it was a hot weekend) and the hut was tastefully furnished. There was a little private area in front of the hut with a patio set for a welcome evening drink. This looked out onto a large field where campers had already set up their tents but were far enough away for me to enjoy privacy and peace. Inside the hut was compact but homely. The bed was extremely comfortable and I had a quiet and restful night’s sleep. I opted for the cooked breakfast delivered to my stable door in the morning and ate it on the small kitchen table inside the hut while watching TV. The kitchen and bathroom were compact but very well laid out and resourced. A short walk across a field takes you through a locked gate ( you get given the number for the gate keypad) and onto the tow path for the barges. This offered a pleasant view of the canal and the totally flat and quite unique landscape of the Fens. The hospitality of the owner was 5 star. The place was spotlessly clean and Covid compliant. I’d definitely go back!
A gem on the Old River Nene What a find! We were just looking for a B&B within a short driving distance of Ely and Hunstanton this place was ideal. We stopped in their ground floor self contained room and was shocked at the size of the accommodation and facilities on offer for the price we paid. The host Bev and John were exceptionally friendly with great knowledge of the local area. We choose the optional full English breakfast which due to COVID is delivered to your room. It was hot and delicious and certainly set us up for the day. This is one place that I guarantee we will visit gain.
Lovely stay Friendly host, beautifully clean and presented bedroom with the bonus of the sun lounge. The delicious breakfast and our trip on the river ensured we had an enjoyable and relaxing stay at Fourwinds which even our 16 year old son enjoyed.
Little Gem I stayed with my grandson in this lovely B and B, we self catered and a fridge and microwave was provided in our rooms, all of the Covid regulations were followed and everything was clean and spotless. We ordered breakfast (which was excellent) and it was delivered to the door all hot and covered in kitchen foil, how rare to get warm toast it usually seems to go cold between the kitchen and table. Just outside of March by the river I would definitely recommend a stay.
Brilliant 3 nights We’ve just returned from a three night stay at Fourwinds Leisure and loved every minute. We stayed in the self catering room 3 which was immaculate and very spacious. Perfect for the three of us. Covid measures are in place and we felt very safe. We enjoyed fishing on the private pegs. We visited Wells Next The Sea which was lovely. We walked into March along the canal which took around half an hour where there are many eateries and shops. We ordered bacon and sausage butties before our journey home and they were exceptional. If you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful and picturesque get away at a very reasonable price, this is the perfect spot. We will definitely be returning.
One night stay in the Shepherds Hut Owner was very friendly and simply showed us the room and left us to it! Shepherds Hut was gorgeous and spotlessly clean with a real fire and very comfy bed, we would definitely return when in the area
Best find ever ! The most cute little shepherds hut, in the large garden of a home; hosted by a lovely lady too. The hut had everything you needed, it was so nice and comfortable too. Brilliant for what we needed and we will be back.
friendly greetings After a long and stressful day of driving.. I was greeted by a friendly cat, that gave a lot of purring and the owners were very helpful and calming.. The beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in..
Clean and cosy We stayed in the Shepherd’s Hut for one night and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s clean, compact & cosy, with all the facilities including toilet, shower and cooking equipment. The hosts were lovely and the cooked breakfast is definitely worth paying the extra for. Jaffa the cat was very welcoming too!
Perfect little hideaway Impromptu booking when we were working down there, over the moon with the accommodation and the hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay there again when we’re in the area and try and get the shepherds hut.
Great little getaway Me and boyfriend stayed here for 5 days in the shepherds hideaway and thought it was lovely, cute and compact with its own bathroom. very large and powerful shower. We had little bbq and garden to ourselves. Lots of visits from their cat jaffa, who we will miss. Our friends joined us for the weekend and was camping. John and Bev laid on a bbq for the whole campsite, which was very good value for money and very tasty too. We also paid extra on last morning to have breakfast, we were not disappointed, very big plate full. Cooked well and tasty. We will come again, maybe try the log cabin next time . Thanks
Peaceful clean and friendly The place was easy to find and the owner was laidback but friendly. The room was large clean and oh so quiet, perfect for a good night sleep. Breakfast was punctual and personalised to mine and my sons needs. For the price I could not fault the place. Oh and massive bathroom that was very well presented. Thankyou
Amazing Family Amazing Place This place is a slice of heaven Beverly and John are an amazing couple they are so accommodating nothing is too much trouble the welcome is great the rooms are very very clean and spacious and the food was amazing if you book i highly recommend the BBQ night cheap and very very tasty Yum Yum we can’t wait to come again many thanks to all involved including the wardens 5 stars Paula Rob and Family
A lovely stay A warm welcome from arrival. Very comfy and clean room with large private bathroom. Breakfast was best we’ve had for a long time. Surroundings are beautiful, so relaxing and peaceful. We had a lovely stroll along the canal before going out for dinner. We would certainly return again for a longer stay. Bev and John made us very welcome. An amazing place – highly recommended.
Great Stay Stayed in the lovely wooden Cabin, very comfortable with everything we needed to hand. Great location for walks and access to town, supermarkets etc. Bev. and John very friendly, nothing too much trouble. Would recommend to anyone.
Amazing family weekend. We loved the stay as people were all able to be together and hosts so friendly and accommodating. Nice in the evening as there was a fire pit. We hired the marquee in case it rained but we’re lucky enough not to use it. Most of us camped but some used accommodation and we had a couple that came by boat and moored there as well. Definitely recommend and hope to use again next year
Warm welcome assured This is the second time we have stayed at the Fourwinds – the first time was in one of the shepherd’s huts for a romantic stay for 2, the second was in the 4 person family room for us and our 9 year old son. Both times we have received a very warm welcome and were instantly made to feel right at home. The shepherd’s hut we stayed in first time was lovely and had everything we needed for an overnight stay, although it would have been a bit “cosy” for more than a couple of nights. The bed was really soft which was fine for me but not so great for my partner. The family room we stayed in second time was really spacious, but the en-suite was tiny, which might be a bit awkward for larger people. The view across the river from this room was beautiful, and we could lay in bed and look out at a stunning sky. The cooked breakfast was simply delicious on both stays. I have to follow a gluten-free diet and this was no problem at all, and I didn’t have to miss out on anything. We can’t wait til the next time we are in the area and can stay again :o)
Lovely location and perfect hosts. Accommodation was perfect and was very clean. Lovely touches in the room including home made biscuits which were amazing. Proprietors were so friendly and helpful great location along the river and breakfast was great.
Lovely quiet location with beautiful surroundings Lovely peaceful location, really friendly and helpful owners and a great breakfast, I used B&B facility within the house with shower room but options included Shepherds Huts on site with shower room, you can go camping or take your motorhome or touring caravan. I woke up each morning to the sound of birds song
Beautiful !! Lovely welcome when we arrived so very friendly & helpful ..We stayed in the shepherds hut what a beautiful find !! We was after a nice relaxing night and that’s exactly what we got so cosy inside with pretty bedding and so cosy to top it off the little log fire in the room ! Infact most comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in I’m usually one to stay awake late but I was so comfy in here ended up having a very rare 10 hours sleep !! Woke up feeling great and refreshed really didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to go back 🙂 loved the friendly cat too that joined us for our evening drinks too ..Thankyou so much for our stay your place really is a little gem
Great mini break We stayed on the campsite with family and grandparents stayed in the b&b. John and Bev were wonderful hosts. Had breakfast in the b&b, homemade bread, muffins and preserves. Great cooked breakfast. Even catered for gluten free and milk free dietary requirements. Good clean facilities, plenty of space on pitches. Enjoyed canoeing down the river. Good mile plus walk into March for pubs and restaurants. Bonus of seeing wildlife on site, green woodpecker, little owl and red kite. Highly recommended.
cannot believe what we found to believe what you read you must visit we stayed in the lodge and sheep hut , they staff were friendly the units was clean and tidy so we’ll equipped every thing you need. secure site for children they even made the weather perfect thanks bev and John we be back soon
Top 5 B&B I’ve ever visited (and I used to travel for work) Great atmosphere, lovely clean, spacious room, very comfortable bed, great shower/bath, wonderful hosts, and the best breakfast selection I’ve ever seen (inclduing veggie and vegan). Highly recommended!
Wonderful B&B! We love this place! Clean, quaint, peaceful, beautiful scenery, the owners are so friendly. The food is delicious! Would definitely recommend this place to others and would love to come back if I’m ever in the area again.
Overnight business stay Loved this place and will definitely be coming back for a little personal stay. The shepherds hut was so cute, comfy bed and lovely homemade biscuits. So friendly and welcoming when I checked in with lots of helpful advice. Had a nice walk down the river tho the marina too
Great place on the river Nene. We were received almost like old friends. My 6yr old granddaughter was given a teddy to look after for the weekend. They also lent her some books. The food they serve is high welfare and delicious. And the accommodation was excellent. John recommended some good places to visit, especially with a 6 year old in mind. We were amused that the complementary biscuits are marked “Eet Me” as in Alice in Wonderland style. And we found a lovely tub of selected herbs by our shepherd’s hut. Little details which make this place outstanding.
Business night away A really convenient and cosy stay. The host was absolutely lovely and we I slept really well. Breakfast was beautifully made (very ungreasy) and even had homemade bread along with a fantastic range of vegetarian options!
A last minute booking Really pleased to have the opportunity of staying in a shepherd’s hut. The host and hostess could not have been more helpful. Beautifully arranged and yet close to nature. Cosy and warm with the log burner.
Excellent B&B Would definitely use again when in area. Lovely people, 10/10 for accommodating. Bedroom lovely and clean and Bed was so comfy. Lovely En suite was in Room 3, Ground floor with garden access next to room, perfect. Lovely breakfast, nothing was to much trouble, My friend wanted extra bacon, Would totally recommend this B&B to anyone.
A unique place to stay Loved our short stay at in the wooden lodge. Comfortable with everything you need thoughtfully provided. Jaffa the cat provided much entertainment though knew when to move away if our dogs were around. Such character.
I will come again when next in the area The owners were relaxed, friendly and accomodating. The bed was so comfy I slept through my alarm on my first morning. I had an afternoon meeting that day and was offered the use of the conservatory to work in for the morning, which was lovely.
Excellent B and B Wonderful people, nothing too much trouble and made to feel very welcome as a solo traveller. Clean, comfortable and peaceful and the breakfast is excellent. Highly recommend this property and would stay again
An absolute joy Great experience. Fabulous friendly and helpful hosts. Beautiful Shepherds Hut to stay in and a fabulously friendly farm moggy. Second visit; partner is a keen birder and visits the area for swans and cranes. Will definitely return. A great little place to stay.
Fourwinds BB We had a very warm welcome from Beverly and John and enjoyed a lovely overnight stay here. The breakfast choices were plentiful and very tasty. A lovely little quiet place with stunning views and loads to do. Our room was a really lovely comfortable family room with an en suite shower room and the beds were really comfy and warm.
Very friendly and helpful! I have stayed for quite a number of nights at Four Winds, using their campsite facilities for my motorhome. The site is very pleasant, with access to the river, is fairly quiet, but only a few minutes’ drive from the market town of March. John and Bev are a really friendly couple and go out of their way to be as helpful as possible. Sadly, I can’t comment on their food, as I have always self-catered, but judging by the delicious smells which come from their kitchen, I’m going to have to treat myself to one of their breakfasts, or a ‘camper’s plate’! The toilets and showers are clean, warm and pleasant – and there are washing machines and driers for guests as well. Being in the fens, you don’t need to bring your levelling ramps, either! 🙂 Recommended.
A hidden gem in the heart of Cambridgeshire We arrived from London to a very warm and friendly welcome. The owners are nothing if not accommodating and made is feel immediately at home. The lodge was an absolute bargain, complete with kitchenette, shower room and 2 double beds. Breakfast is offered at a dmall surcharge and definately worth it. Would have loved to stay on for a further few days but they understandably fully booked.
Mrs Donald My partner and I (& our dog) enjoyed our stay at the log cabine. Beautiful place and lovely surroundings. Very pleasant. Thank you to Beverly and John for their hospitality. We will definitively come back again.
Self contained lodge Stayed for one night in the lodge as was training nearby. Lovely self contained accomodation, clean and tidy , and furnished with all I needed for my stay. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Just perfect for what I needed
BnB in quiet rural March I booked a last minute event & luckily found this quiet place. We where made very welcome & the room We stayed in was exceptionally clean, comfortable & quiet from any outside noise. In the morning we had been given more than enough a superb tasty breakfast, which ensured I certainly didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day. Thanks for a great stay. Will definitely book again.
Excellent stay Booked very last minute quite late at night but nothing was a problem. Stayed in the cabin, lots of room and very comfortable had everything you could need. Owners were very lovely and nothing was to much to ask for! Breakfast was amazing lots of options for everyone. Will definitely be staying here again!
Shepherd hut Shepherd hut was fantastic for a weekend away in October. Very cosy but with everything you could need provided and in a very peaceful location. Meals are available from the nearby b and b if required but we didn’t try this. Parking is plentiful and the hosts are lovely.
BB Experience of sleeping in a lovely homely coach is an option. Good ensuite facility with good view. Enjoyable especially for animals or bird watchers. I recorded a lovely tweet and sent it to my daughter who is using it on her phone. Lovely !!!
Friendly and beautiful setting Booked for a family weekend, stayed in a log cabin plenty of space, local takeaway delivered and the walks were beautiful. Children had a lovely time, would fully recommend and will definitely be returning!!
Fourwinds Cabin This was a great stay in the cabin, lots of space but really warm and cozy on a cool autumnal evening. It had all the amenities I needed in the kitchen and lounge plus a super bathroom. It is definitely worth a visit in the summer with use of the canoes.
Excellent little find Visited with my husband and 2 children, stayed in a log cabin. We were met by a wonderful lady who showed us in, gave us directions to local shops and couldn’t have been more helpful. Lovely accommodation and beautiful setting. We will be coming back!!
B&B stay at Fourwinds Leisure- wonderful relaxing stay Bev and John made us feel really welcome and our room was lovely. Spent a relaxing weekend with family who were camping on the same site. John arranged secure parking for our motorbike and a cover. Breakfast was great, amazing choice of homemade preserves. Would recommend it anyone wanting to visit Wisbech, March, Peterborough area. Very peaceful, lots of wildlife to see and hear. DVDs and books available to borrow if the weather is not great.
Fourwinds Leisure Myself and my wife visited family living in March and stayed at Four winds B & B in the lodge. This was immaculate in presentation and the owner John was an excellent host with an outstanding breakfast which was all locally sourced. The lodge itself was comfy and adequately catered for. Would definitely recommend this to anyone and will definitely be returning.
Excellent The wife and I were up in East Anglia house hunting and decided to try something different, the ‘Shepherds hut’ was certainly different, from the outside it appeared small but once inside it was like the ‘Tardis’, containing a large comfortable bed, table and chairs, wood burner, sink, fridge, toilet and shower, oh, nearly forgot the TV! Perfect hosts and a great breakfast in a very clean environment. I would certainly recommend this for a visit, the grounds are well kept and it was a pleasure to visit.
Jewel in the Fens I had a tiring journey from the west of England, and arrived in the dark, but John made me very welcome. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Wide choice for breakfast; my cheese & mushroom omelette was prefect, and the coffee was great. I then headed east to Welney; John’s directions through March were spot-on.
Comfy stay, delicious breakfast I chose this B&B for its location (near my family). Comfy room, friendly interesting owners, delicious breakfast! If disabled and staying in room 1 or 3, ask for a parking space to be reserved in the front. I will make this my base when in the area next.
Great, chilled out rest Off the beaten track , lovely room with ensuite , spotlessly clean , peaceful location and great breakfast , hostess wa# very helpful , plea that of off road secure parking, wish my stay was longer but will definitely be booking again
Fun in the Fens This is the second occasion that my wife and I have stayed at Fourwinds Leisure and there is something most definitely reassuring about the fact that the genuine warmth and friendliness of the proprietors is as consistent as ever and the excellent, overall, standards are maintained to such a commendable and exemplary level. The choice and range of food at breakfast is excellent and cooked impeccably. In addition to this, any specialist dietary requirements are readily catered for and nothing, absolutely nothing is too much trouble to ensure that, as guests, or needs are met. The facilities and standards at Fourwinds Leisure are really quite superb, which makes for very contented, relaxed and happy guests. Well done and our utmost gratitude to John and Bev.
TWO NIGHT STAY Are two night stay was good the room was very clean and tidy. breakfast had a good choice and cooked fresh. The hosts were helpful with any request we had . Would stay again when in the area. Room we had was with private bathroom across hall no problem as dressing gowns were provided . AJ
Fabulous stay Fourwinds was a brilliant find, its in a great location for visting my family near by. We stayed in the shepards and absolutely loved it and will definitely be returning. The owners were friendly and welcolming when we arrived and showed us to where we were staying. The shepards hut looked great and was very comfortable with all the amenties we needed.
Excellent Stay Fantastic location, wonderful welcoming hosts, spotlessly clean.Room extremely comfortable with everything you need.Breakfast was fantastic, best breakfast I have ever had, locally sourced produce, freshly cooked.
Long weekend Lovely long weekend. meeting up with members of family. If walking into March after going under bypass (under road bridge) to the March side cross the river on the bridge and take the path on the left alongside the river (had not been cut back recently this year so long trousers recommended!).
Quaint Hideaway A wonderful location for a weekend retreat. Really enjoyed this quiet little hideaway. The staff was attentive and very friendly. The rooms and the grounds were very clean. There’s open space for the dog to run and activities for kids and adults. Will definitely recommend Fourwinds to others and use them again if in the area.
The shepherds hut is simply amazing Bev and John are wonderful hosts. They welcomed me very friendly, Bev showed me around and explained me everything I needed to know. The shepherds hut is well equipped with all you need for your stay. When I entered I expected it to be quite tiny but was surprised by the comfort and space you get in the hut. It turned out to be ‘a home far away from home’! If I ever go back to Cambridgeshire I definitely want to stay there again!
Very Welcoming We stayed in one of the shepherd’s hut at the Fourwinds B&B and it was excellent. We had a very warm welcome as we checked in and were shown to our accommodation which was fantastic. I’d been told a week before that shepherd’s huts ca be very “cosy”, meaning small and cramped, but I didn’t find this at all. It was a great space with a toilet and shower, the bed was very comfy and there was a small sink and fridge as well. We had breakfast both days we stayed and the B&B and the food was very good. I would definitely stay here again,
Homely & Accommodating!! 🙂 A great 4 week stay…. I stayed here for 4 weeks whilst on a university placement at a nearby hospital. This is a fantastic place to stay! The owners are so so lovely and everyone on site is also. I stayed in the Shepherds hut and one of the bedrooms inside, both were so clean and comfy. The breakfast is amazing, the best I have ever been cooked! The bread was delicious and homemade. The homemade shortbread in the room was topped up daily, which was also super yummy. Being away from home for long periods can be hard when on placement at times, however I felt so at home here and welcome I will be recommending it to any of my friends who need accommodation in the future, and any family members who want a relaxing trip away! The area is also great for walks etc as well due to the great views. There are so many good things I could keep writing (even the flowers being watered daily) but it would be far too much to read. Thank you again to everyone here for a fantastic stay 🙂 🙂 🙂
Excellent We had such a pleasant experience. Lovely accommodation, which slept 3 adults perfectly fine with plenty of space. Very clean and comfortable with a homely feel. Both hosts were excellent. Friendly, informative of the local areas for me to run and very bubbly. Welcomed you from the off. Perfect
Fantastic place to stay Everything about four winds was excellent. John and Bev were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble. The room was very clean an comfortable. The location is great, really peaceful. However I was there for 2 days on buisness and was worried driving to the accommodation that wifi might not be very good. I needn’t have worried it was fine. The breakfast was very good with more than enough food, the icing on the cake was the homemade bread which was truly delicious. If I’m in the area again I would definitely stay here again.
Fab place, lovely hosts! Lovely little get away. I stayed with 2 of my daughters in the main house. The very 1st impression you get is how tranquil & lovely the whole setting is, quickly followed by the warm & welcoming host! We were running very late, but were still greeted with a very welcoming & warm smile & chat. We’d booked here as we were going skydiving nearby the next day. Didnt get to sample the breakfast as we needed to be up & out early the next morning, but if friendliness, relaxation, value for money & cleanliness (everything was beyond spotless!!) is anything to go by we will definitely be returning. Would like to sample the shepherds hut next time! Thanks for a wonderful stay.
Five Star hosts and accommodation Stayed for two nights in the shepherds hut over the weekend to attend a wedding. What a memorable weekend. Lovely wedding and a perfect place to stay. Hosts were very friendly and attentive. The breakfast was fab and the shepherds hut had everything we required and more. Hopefully have more events to attend in March because we would definitely stay here again. Lovely walk into March along the river. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.
Super little stay, lovely setting Peaceful, clean and today and relaxing. Stayed in the shepherds hut which was beautifully furnished and had everything we needed. Hosts were great and friendly. Would recommend **** Didn’t use facilities but a shop and pub nearby which was handy.
Respite in the Fens Original destination Cambridge but due to late planning , chosen purely on reviews and availability of a 3 bed room. Increasing misgivings , bouncing up and down on a desolate road and passing a huge potato processing plant , soon dispelled upon arrival ! Friendly reception / host, excellent shower, spotless room , great breakfast and a peaceful walk along the Old Nene River from the back gate to March ..
Excellent accommodation Only actually stayed for one night, two days but after a warm and friendly greeting was shown to my room which to be frank put to shame many of the larger and much more expensive hotels. If you’re in the area and looking for peace and quiet surrounded by fields then this is the place for you !
Quality BB Steve and myself have just completed are third stay at this delightful place Bev and John always welcome you. Yummy breakfast and excellent rooms, good price too. Will be returning later in the year. for another go at fishing
Cosy cabin We booked last minute as my partner had a skydive on the Saturday morning. We arrived a little later than anticipated (good old Dartford crossing!!) but I let Bev know and she was very accommodating. We couldn’t believe how big the cabin was and it had such lovely decor throughout. Unfortunately as we got there at about 9pm and left at 9am, we didn’t get to make the most of it but we are definitely planning on coming back 🙂
Great Stay Lovely setting -really enjoyed walking along the river into March. Would like to stay in the shepherds hut next time! Peaceful site, amenities very clean, delicious breakfast. Friendly owners and staff.
Peaceful We enjoyed staying there , bev and John were very helpful and couldn’t do enough for us .stayed in the hideaway which was snug and comfy, just the right space for two . Town not far away , and Tescos round the corner
Fantastic B&B with lovely hosts My family and I stayed for one night, room was nice and adequate for the four of us. Ensuite was on the small side but that wouldn’t stop us from staying again. Top marks for the full English breakfast!
a fantastic place to stay local to main shops but also an idyllic haven We stayed in the log cabin where we had all the weathers! It was blissfully private in the garden space with a bench/table plus bbq when it was hot and facilities and parking were very amenable. When the weather was a little chillier the cabin provided a cosy place to stay. The whole camp was well kept, the owners extremely friendly and helpful.
The best Shepherds Hut ever! We loved our stay at this Shepherds Hut! Looks small in the outside but it has everything you need and more inside! Amazing! Also it was all new and modern and ultra clean! Would love to go back and invite our friends to stay with us too, there is another shepherds hut and a cabin next to it. and the people in the campsite were all nice and friendly. Thanks to Bev and John for the nice breakfast too! All the best! Hope to see you again soon!
Fourwinds B&B, March We had an amazing stay in the fourwinds log cabin. Although it was just for a night, we were greeted by the couple and they introduced themselves straight away and made us feel welcome at the first meet. Upon taking us to the cabin there was a wonderful campsite and lots of well kept land and beautiful surroundings. Our log cabin… well what can I say. Was absolutely immaculate. Clean, tidy, everything you could possibly need for self catering. Little kitchen, bathroom with shower. Ironing equipment, bed linen, towels, all included. It was perfect. Our little girls loved their over night adventure and would love to go back to stay longer and explore all the lovely walks around the area. 5* from us. And thank you for having us Bev and John.
Shepherds Hut on Campsite Fabulous stay in cosy well equipped hut. Beautifully decorated, with account to details. It was warm cosy with log burner and radiator if needed. The hut was bright and clean. Great hosts- fab full English Breakfast in the guest houses dining room in the morning- reasonably priced. Would definitely return!
Nice place for a quiet getaway A great place to stay for a quiet getaway, and if you fancy outdoor activities the B&B caters for these also, there is a camp site at the B&B. Owners are very friendly and helpful, the food is of a very good choice for breakfast, other meals not taken
Another great stay Another great stay at Fourwinds. John and Beverly are perfect hosts. Rooms are clean, contemporary and comfortable. Breakfasts first class. Nothing too much trouble. Will be back again. Highly recommended.
Great stay Fantastic hosts Bev and John, warm, friendly reception. Lovely clean room, with home made biscuits. The awesome cooked breakfast with locally sourced meats and produce. A much recommended bed and breakfast. We will definitely be coming back.
Great place to stay. Don’t change a thing.iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
Another great stay This was our 2nd stay at Fourwinds, with it being a mass take over of 18 of us over three nights to take part in a skydive nearby. As always, Beverly and John were fantastic hosts with nothing being too much trouble. Facilities are always spotlessly clean and breakfast being one of the best. All of our friends that had never stayed here were super pleased with the accommodation. Looking forward to arranging our next visit x
Just lovely We stayed in a large family room with an en suite shower bathroom, which was a great size for our family of 4. Plenty of room for the travel cot too. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Our hosts were genuinely friendly and made our children feel very welcome too. We’ll definitely be coming back again soon. Thank you x
Peaceful I had a lovely 2 night stay with me in the b&b and friends in the caravan site. The room was large, clean and comfy with fresh milk in a little fridge and delicious homemade shortbread and the breakfast was very tasty, especially the French toast. Will definitely come back if I need an overnight stay in the area 🙂
Family caravan holiday A lovely site. Arriving after a deluge of rain we found that the site owners were helpful and spent time showing us around and helping to get us set up so as not to damage the grass. We had originally booked for the weekend but decided to stay for a week. The owners could not be more accommodating, with a little working they managed to fit us in so that we do not need to move. Offering a cooked breakfast this became our morning routing of bacon butties without having to cook them ourselves. The facilities are great, a good shower and toilet block both of which are warm and clean. The owners are very helpful and friendly providing a comfortable campsite.
Very good service The owners are very nice and helpfull people. I have no more text to add to come to the 200 characters that are required……………………………………………………………………..
A Home Away From Home John and Beverly are excellent hosts. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They make you feel that Fourwinds is your home away from home. Delicious food, spotless rooms and warm and inviting decor all contribute to a wonderful experience. Can’t wait to go back. Have recommended it to all my friends too.
great place to stay We booked for three nights in our caravan to attend my sons wedding. The people were very welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble, very good facilities and clean. Would highly recommend. Very friendly cat,
Fabulous, Fabulous, Fabulous ! Value for money, Absolutely lovely stay, well positioned B&B owned by a wonderful couple!….made us feel at home from the start and cannot do enough for you…room was homely and clean. Breakfast was superb and yet again nothing too much trouble. All meat, breads, jams etc are sourced locally or home made too so all tasted gorgeous !…would I recommend this B&B…ohhhhh yesssss! Cannot praise it enough and will return again & again when i can !
Fabulous! We booked in for a night over the mother’s day weekend and right from the start this place was just, so good! We arrived a bit later than we’d planned due to other things planned for the morning, but we were greeted with a smile by Beverly. She took time to show us our room (one of only two in the b&b) and talk us through things (not an easy feat with two crazy children!) and made sure we’re were alright. The room was clean, comfortable and warm and we all slept very well! At breakfast, my eldest son can be a bit all over the place with his order (adhd) but although he’d add things every 5 minutes, John never faltered. Nothing but smiles from him. Breakfast was wonderful; hot and filling, and the homemade bread just topped it off nicely! We were made to feel very welcome at the fourwinds b&b and once we found out they are also part of the c&cc, have already made plans to go back with the tent!!
Quiet weekend away Needed somewhere close to March Cambridgeshire to stay whilst visiting a friend. Four winds was conveniently positioned for this and for a day trip to Ely. The self catering cabin was lovely. Had everything we needed and was cosy, with an extra oil heater should we be chilly. Would stay at a Four Winds again…..quite fancy staying in the Shepherds Lodge
Four Winds of Heaven. As already stated total bliss, cabin and absolute dream, comfy, cosy and clean. John and Beverley top notch host’s, everything was perfection. The setting was peaceful tranquility, far from the madding crowd, a real escape gem !!!
Fantastic Really friendly. Very clean. Very comfortable. Only one issue. The bathroom wasn’t very warm as the radiator wasn’t working. Only towel heater. There were electrical issues early in the morning so this could of been the problem and it was a very cold morning.
lovely stay A very comfortable, self contained pine-cabin in pleasant surroundings – staff very welcoming – we didnt have breakfast, or take advantage of the sporting activities on offer, so cannot comment on those – wish we could have stayed longer – would recommend ..10/10
Positive feedback Couldn’t fault the place. Immaculate accommodation, very accommodating people, excellent breakfast and have already returned. Would highly recommend to other travellers. Excellent value for money. Well done Fourwinds.
A very welcome last minute change After a double booking at another local B and B I found this amazing spot! A fabulous cabin. Spacious, warm, homely and exceptionally clean. Breakfast was pretty good too!!!! The people were very friendly and the ginger cat is an absolute star. Compared to other local places I’ve stayed this really stands out as one of the very best!
December caravan visit John & Bev the owners are wonderful, as are their team that greeted us, nothing was too much trouble, they have a great site, River access and the hottest showers possible 🙂 Many thanks for a great stay
Fantastic spot in the Fens Fourth visit here as a family! This time stayed in their log cabin which is so thoughtfully appointed and warm and cozy. Double bed and a double sofa bed. Cooking facilities and fridge. Love on arrival they leave you some home made biscuits, tea and coffee. Darren and Theresa had made sure heating etc was on for our late arrival on a freezing cold evening. Another great stay
A tranquil, relaxing and very well-apppointed palce to stay. We chose to stay at the Fourwinds B and B because we were en route from Yorkshire, where we had been staying, back to our home in southern England. It a lovely place to break our journey in a part of the country we weren’t too familiar with. Also, having had a long, hard trip down through heavy Friday afternoon traffic mostly on the A1M, the fact that it is a friendly high quality B and B meant that it was easy to put our long day behind us, to relax and feel refreshed to resume our journey the next day. Highly recommended.
Superb stay in the new Shepherd’s Hut Have enjoyed a wonderful three day break in March, Cambs, with excellent overnight accommodation in the new Shepherd’s Hut located at Fourwinds B&B. Outstanding value for money; great surroundings and tremendous hosts! Thoroughly recommend this (which is suitable all year round) and particularly “cosy” at this time of year. March and the Fens is a relaxing combination of community town and rolling countryside; and Fourwinds is the perfect base in which to enjoy and explore.
A lovely stay Lovely cosy, quiet little B and B with friendly owners and thoughtful touches – like homemade biscuits in room, nice shower products and little fridge for guest use enabling proper milk with coffee in room (which makes a difference!). In quiet location on a little road out of town, but within easy walking distance along a scenic route. I stayed 2 nights but would have happily stayed longer. Breakfast was home cooked by owners, who were attentive and pleasant.
Lovely Stay Lovely People Despite arriving in the evening we received a very warm welcome. The room was large and warmed up nicely once we turned on the radiator. Lovely location out in the ‘fen’ as locals would say. excellent breakfast including proper fresh fruit salad and great cooked veggie breakfast. Will be back again when we need an overnight in March.
Fantastic stay Very Freindly hosts phoned a taxi for us when we couldn’t get an answer from local taxi firms, room was very spacious and very clean, breakfast was Fantastic plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and Biscuits would stay again without hesitation
Friendly Fourwinds My son and I stayed for 3 nights and loved it. Perfect location for where we needed to be, quiet but not far from everything. Will definitely be returning next year. They were happy to provide a ‘take away’ breakfast when we had a very early start some mornings and the cooked breakfast was just right!
Quirky, comfortable and wow It had to be done, once I’d seen the pictures. I’ve never stayed in a place like it. All you need and more, and a log burner! Clean and warm. Was welcomed on arrival – I left before breakfast and cannot comment consequently comment, but I’d guess it’s good. Would I stay again YES. Oh and I loved the shower. (Try to get the home on wheels)
Would recommend Great stay, one of the comfiest beds I have ever slept in. It was a bit chilly when we first arrived but eventually warmed up. The cottage was well equipped for basic catering. 2 ring hob, and very small microwave. Though there was a double bed and bed settee I dont think there was really enough privacy to sleep 4. Apart from that, it was a lovely setting. The accommodation was comfortable and breakfast really good using top quality ingredients. The hosts were perfect. Friendly. Helpful and welcoming. We hope to return for a longer stay.
Amazing place! We went here for a night and it had an amazing breakfast and a spacious room! It was very lovely and they even stayed up later when we arrived a little later than expected. Amazing breakfast that was mostly homemade and the bread and cooked breakfast was amazing! Would definitely recommend.
all good Nice and exactly as expected, a lot of thought gone into maximising the space. Probably best in good weather for the outside eating area but nice and cosy. Very comfortable bed and adequate kitchen facilities.
Home From Home We stayed at Four Winds using it as a base for a trip to Duxford Air Museum, set in a pretty location it was all we wanted. The owners John & Beverley made us very welcome, the home made biscuits left in our room with the tea & and coffee were delicious. It has lovely gardens and the grounds lead down to the Old River Nene that you can walk along to March town centre where there are some pubs and restaurants. The breakfast was wholesome and plentiful with a good choice of foods. Four Winds B&B met all our expectations and requirements we’ll stay again if we are in the area.
Fourwinds Fivestars! We really enjoyed our stay at Fourwinds. Our room was spacious and well decorated and furnished with everything we could want including a little fridge, milk and water. Bev and John were fab hosts, very welcoming and couldn’t do enough to accommodate our needs. Breakfasts were very good indeed including fresh fruits, yoghurt and gorgeous cooked options (fab poached eggs!).
Lovely room, welcoming hosts, fab breakfast. Just perfect Thank you so much for a lovely stay. It was just what I needed after a long drive. Thoroughly recommend this lovely, welcoming B&B. The room was very spacious with a lovely private bathroom. The breakfast was top notch and the hosts very helpful and accomodating.
Beautiful place to stay Enjoyed our overnight stay in this well priced log cabin. Kids had a great time with gardens to enjoy and private outside area. The cabin felt comfortable and relaxing, even with homemade biscuits to enjoy! Shower facilities of a high standard. Thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend!
FourWinds BB Had a great stay on Saturday night. Wish we had more time there but had to get up early for skydive nearby, the hosts were lovely and made sure that our breakfast was ready early for us to depart. Would definitely go back again.
Visit from South Wales A very lovely B&B, small, comfy, very clean with very nice and welcoming staff and owners and a cracking breakfast. Parking for the car, Would be good for families, couples and singles. We would happily come back at any time in the future and have already recommended it to friends as a place to stay.
Mel,s review Excellent B&B , nice river walk into town, very relaxing environment, John & Bev were great hosts . Good quality breakfast to keep you going throughout the day, plenty of activities if you want a little more of an active break.
Friends weekend Recently stayed with a group of friends, we stayed in the bed and breakfast room, it was a family room with plenty of space for 4, including an ensuite toilet and shower which also had shower gel, shampoo and lovely fluffy towels provided. They have several options to stay caravan pitches, a log cabin, shepherds hut or the main house every option you could think of. We hired the canoes which was amazing fun. Perfect place for our weekend break, thank you Bev and John
excellent my boyfriend and I stayed for the night as we had a skydive early the next morning. Just wish I could have stayed longer. Would recommend staying to anyone definitely intend to go back and stay again friendly, clean and extremely comfortable
Nice Campsite with access to the river We stayed here as a couple for a weekend break. We were greeted and shown to our pitch and everything was explained clearly. The field is very good, with lush grass, good level pitches and not a single rock to obstruct our tent pegs. The facilities were spot on and very simple. We particularly liked the electricity payment system where you only pay for what you use. It ended up costing us just 50p/day for electric hookup! March is a moderate walk or short bike ride from the campsite. If you prefer, you can canoe down the river into March, which has plenty of pubs, shops and eateries. If you need a big supermarket there is a large Tesco within a mile of the campsite. The owners of the campsite were nice and helpful, which makes all the difference. Our only complaint was that some of the other campers liked to get up at 5 or 6am (presumably to go fishing) and liked to have loud conversations which woke us up.
A treat in the Fens A lovely weekend break with friends and hosts Bev & John taking care of all our needs. The room we stayed in was spacious and clean with a very comfortable king size bed and a lovely large clean en-suite bathroom. Lots of nice touches – home made biscuits, tea making facilities and fresh milk in the mini fridge. The B&B has very picturesque grounds which back onto the River Nene. We made use of the canoes (complete beginners!) and managed to find our way to a great pub in town (The Ship Inn ) and back again! A great way to spend the afternoon and very pretty and tranquil on the river. Loved every minute. Thank you Bev, John for making us feel so welcome and at home – we will be back!!
Quiet place in the country Had a long weekend as part of a fairly large family get together. Stay overall was excellent.Very quiet location walk into March very easy going (go under the bypass, under the bridge rather than try to cross the road)
A pleasure to stay Greated by name with a smile and made to feel welcome.the room was exceptional, clean and warm. The bed was so comfortable I did not want to get up in the morning. Have tried to book for social and they were fully booked which i was not supprised about. They have other aminities on site for camping and mobile homes but i was their for work. if I work in the area again will definatly stay again.
Home from Home This was our second visit to Fourwinds. Set out in the countryside in a lovely location near the river but not too remote from the town. Quiet surroundings. The house is very well maintained and decor very nice. We had the ground floor room on the side. There are also outside cabins and camping/caravan points too. The owners Bev and John are very welcoming and friendly. Food was excellent local fayre. We did not use them but there were canoeing and archery activities available. We have stayed there twice now and intend to return. Highly recommend it.
Great campsite Stayed for two nights. Booking was straight forward. Initial telephone contact was welcoming and friendly. Campsite easy to find following website instructions. Good size pitch with hook up. Electric hookup payment via prepaid card. All very straight forward and well explained. For 2 nights we purchased £5. This was more than enough for us (use elec for fridge, kettle, phone chargers and lighting) they refund what you don’t use (we got £2 back) Campsite was nice and Quiet when we were there. We pre booked 2 hours canoeing for the next day (£25) life jackets provided. Completed a lovely 2 hours along river. Would recommend. You can also walk into March from campsite. Took us 25 mins. Selection of pubs. We liked the ship inn. We didn’t eat in March so can’t comment on food options. There is a Sainsbury’s in March and also a big Tescos just outside March. The wardens were lovely (sorry we didn’t get your names! We were in Jin!) very nice and down to earth people. Very helpful too. You can have breakfast £7.50 which the owners John and Beverley offer but again we didn’t simply because we had our own food. Showers cost 50p (6 mins) and you purchase tokens again you are refunded what you don’t use. Facilities wise 2 showers and 2 toilets. Two kitchen sinks and clear directions for waste and bins. Loved our stay here. A very honest campsite with lovely, genuine people running it. Would recommend.
Canoe Hire 🙂 Six of us used fourwinds leisure for the canoe hire they supplied. Pre booking is recommended, especially on the weekends. A waterway brief, how to steer the canoe explanation, paddles + life jackets were all provided. Brilliant way to spend a Sunday on the peaceful river nene.
Friendly Fens stay We had 3 nights in the log cabin at this combined B&B/campsite. It is amazing! I really don’t want to describe the cabin here because I think it is best to walk in the door without knowing how it has been decorated. We were blown away. It is equipped with all the basics, and then some. The bed (often a let down when away from home) was fantastic. The breakfasts were brilliant – help yourself from the buffet and then a full English. But the best thing about staying here are the hosts. Truly lovely people. The site itself is on the edge of a watercourse, March is 2 minutes away, the coastal resorts of North Norfolk and the wonderful city of Ely are in easy reach. We also highly recommend ‘Mama Tree’ Chinese restaurant just 5 minutes away, if you don’t want to cook. We do hope to go back to Fourwinds in the not too distant future.
Beautiful accommodation We stayed in the cabin. Spotlessly clean Plenty of towels, washing up liquid supplied, tea/coffee, milk and homemade biscuits on arrival and nice bedding. Warm welcome from the owners and very reasonably priced. Great site offering a bit of everything. Would definitely stay again.
Fourwinds with 5 stars What an amazing place – we stayed here on Saturday night to attend an evening wedding reception in nearby March Golf Club. It was amazing. The rooms we had were so comfortable, clean and welcoming it was a shame to go out! We travelled with my elderly parents (disabled mum) and they had a room on the ground floor with an en suite bathroom and it was perfect for them lovely double bed, TV, small fridge (which was a bonus as my mum has medication that has to stay in the fridge). My dad felt at home immediately and as usual got the kettle on! My husband, daughter and myself had an upstairs room which was very spacious and well equipped, with TV, fridge, and a great shower room, 2 single beds and 1 double. We requested breakfast at 8:00 on Sunday and the table was already laid when we arrived in the dining room and a very tasty breakfast it was to. We all had the full cooked breakfast and my mum had the veggie option which she thoroughly enjoyed. Tea, coffee orange and apple juice where plentiful along with homemade banana muffins. We all said it was shame we were not staying longer as we felt at home from the minute we arrived and were looked after so well we would enjoyed a few more days of comfort. Would love to stay again in the summer months to enjoy a canal walk and maybe some canoeing. Thank you, Beverley,
Loved it! Thankyou for a lovely few days…..clean, friendly ,beautiful place……we will most definitely be returning……easy to find lots of walks to enjoy……perfect setting wish we had booked for longer…thankyou fir a fab few days x xxxxx
Fantastic Campsite and B&B in the Fens! On our second visit here on this occasion we brought the whole family and the dog for Easter. Great camping site with EHU if you require. Ablutions lovely and clean with nice spacious hot showers, washing up area and all camping amenities you would expect and much more! Lots of lovely walks and great field for kids to roam. Note, correctly, dogs robe kept on lead. On arrival David was extremely helpful in helping us with getting up our trailer tent awning for the first time and spent good couple of hours with us fathoming that great Chinese puzzle of strangely marked random poles! Darren and Theresa also fantastic and they arranged a fun Easter Egg hunt for all the children on camp. (There is the video done by the talented Darren on Fourwinds Facebook Page) Owners John and Bev the perfect hosts. We have become great friends of all here!
Steve & Sharon We have stayed here twice now once in the log cabin and once in the shepherds hideaway. Both excellent in every way. Bec and John very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended we will certainly be staying there in the future.
Holiday Fourwinds is situated in a lovely setting. There is an easily accessible river walk. It is close to March and amenities. The room and bed were very comfortable. We had our own bathroom. Everything was very clean. Breakfasts were good with a vegetarian choice. Excellent friendly service. I would stay there again.
A Haven Booked this for my husband who had business in the area as it was top of Tripadvisor’s recommendations. He was so pleased with his experience. Slept really well and thought the owners were lovely. He really enjoyed his breakfast. Thank you for looking after him so well.
Beautiful John the owner met us at the door, very organised and professional.the accomadation was spotlessly cleaned and very very romantic. Set in beautiful countryside with the river nene very very close.everything you need for a short /long stay and the shower was great .woken up by the birds singing – what a treat and 100% will use the place again.very easy to find and feels very safe .thank you
Fantactic BB An excellent B&B run by people who take great care to ensure that you are well looked after. Our room was spacious, clean and contemporary, couldn’t ask for any more. Our friends had a log cabin in the grounds which was excellent, it’s just a shame that the weather didn’t allow us to explore the surrounding area and perhaps take a come up the canal.
Very pleasant stay A very pleasant stay, were only there for one night. Breakfast good and we were asked if we wanted any more ! I dont have anything further to add so I dont think you should have a minimum of 200 characters for your review!
Comfortable beds Great room with a comfy bed and carpets that were sumptuous. Fridge in room. Large tv hidden in the wardrobe. Bottled Water (500ml) supplied for free. Breakfast was very nice. I will definitely consider staying here again
Excellent place. Fourwinds is situated in a very pleasant location – outside the town, but close enough to go shopping, and get where you need to be. The owners are really helpful without being intrusive. The facilities are excellent and comfortable. Guests are permitted to use the dining room to eat food brought in from outside, which was very useful.
Must go back! This place is fantastic. Beautiful clean spacious rooms. Friendly owners. Really tasty hearty breakfast. Can’t wait to go back in the summer to try out their canoeing and archery – they also offer camping.
Lovely experience I only stay here for one night but I wish I could have had more. It was such a pleasant experience, comfy bed, nice breakfast and extremely friendly staff/owners. I will definitely stay again if I get the chance 🙂
Lovely and peaceful Enjoyed the stay room facilities excellent. Staff lovely. Grounds a real bonus to be able to sit by the river at sunset just a pure joy. Peaceful quiet relaxing. Lovely breakfast. Staff really care about you and your needs.
Great week stay in the lodge The lodge has been brilliantly built and carefully furnished. Car parking could be a problem but wasn’t when i was there and there is plenty of land. Breakfast was fantastic and the muffins were amazing.
Just what the Doctor ordered.. peaceful bliss A wonderfully cozy log cabin, immaculately clean and tidy, lots of lovely homely touches. Modern bathroom with lovely sink and shower. Very comfortable bed, blankets, pillows, nice duvets and tasteful furniture and fixtures and fittings along with warm native artwork. Had a basic well kept small kitchenette which met with our self catering needs perfectly, equipped with a set of utensils, crockery, microwave, kettle and hob. Our generous hosts left us everything we could need and more to make us feel home from home. Beautiful river with lovely wildlife of the Fens down at the bottom of the garden, amazing stars and moon to see as you step outside the cabin. Most fantastic sunrises and sunsets with peaceful birdsong to help you connect with surrounding nature and bring you gently back down to Earth. Brilliant ethos where they use environmentally friendly products, local products, eco friendly fuel and are duly concerned for the health and use of our Earth’s water. The cabin was so well put together, coordinated lovely little touches of red checked curtains in kitchen and lovely red mugs hanging on the plate rack. Had everything we needed, large TV and DVD player, fab radiators which maintained a lovely warmth. My husband and I hold a high affection for the ways and traditions of the Native American people, so this log cabin was a vision and a dream come true and the perfect holiday for us as there were little touches of their influence dotted around the site. Although hosts were away, lovely couple there to cover – fantastic artist and nature enthusiasts, everything we needed for a much needed bit of R&R after Christmas. Fantastic place to stay and visited the nearby Ely Cathedral and historic church at Wisbech too, which were both well worth the visit, steeped in history surrounded by the beauty and mystique of the Fens. Thank you so much and wish this couple every success with their business where you can also Canoe, fish and learn archery all on site. Really highly recommended.
Will definitely be back here again I had a fantastic stay with my family in Nov. Bev & John made us feel very welcomed. Rooms were clean and well furnished. Found the bed a tad too soft for my liking (but that’s to each his own) and the ensuite toilet being a little too narrow for comfort. Otherwise, everything was very good – including the breakfast selection. I will certainly come back again, this time for a longer stay to partake in some of the outdoor activities. P/s: John & Bev, come visit SG soon!
Really Comfortable Place to Stay I had the opportunity to stay at Fourwinds B&B as a result of a short trip to Ely locally. I arrived later than planned but was greeted without fuss or bother despite my lateness, I was welcomed into a really really nice and very comfortable log cabin. As a place to stay I would recommend it hugely for a party of 2-4 guests.. I always ask myself at checkout whether I would use a venue again, I can and will continue to keep this venue in my list of great places to stay when in and around the Isle of Ely.
Fantastic Find! Went and stayed for a long weekend with the family. We stayed in their wonderful chalet which was fantastic for us and 2 children and an infant. Is lovely and site is spotless. Fun walks down to the river and the children loved cycling around the site. John and Bev are fantastic hosts and we had the privilege of Darren and Theresa of Duo Velo teaching the girls to ride finally! Lovely spot in the Fens! Looking forward to being back in the summer with our camping trailer!
” great place to stay ” Firstly credit goes to landlords and landlady who really friendly and helpful. Place are nice and clean. Feeling like home . Nice surrounding with garden and caravan parking .Will be using again and again.Recommended to everyone!!!
Home from home We stay here regularly as family live in March and I can honestly say that Bev and Johns very high standards have never gone down. Their hospitality is second to none – nothing is ever to much trouble! The breakfasts are delicious, Bevs home made bread a bonus! The bedrooms are spotless with very comfortable beds – lovely bathrooms and tea coffee making trays with fresh milk to make your tea in the morning. March is very fortunate to have such a B and B and we are fortunate to have found it !
Excellent experience Lovely owners. Convenient for national cycle network. Lots of very interesting places to visit, especially by bike. The National Trust property in Wisbech is worth a visit as is the church of Saint Wendreda in March. A very comfortable room to come back to.
Day Canoeing I took my son 19 and daughter 16 for a few hours on the nene. Never done it before. We were well looked after, good equipment and great fun. Easy paddling so no need to be over fit. Very enjoyable day.
We even saw a kingfisher! As others have said this is a delightful B and B, on the edge of March. Our downstairs family room was fine, the bathroom excellent and breakfast of high standard. For us the best part is the location, A stroll through the garden and field leads to the river bank where we watched the ducks, dragonflies and even a kingfisher.
Excellent Campsite Have stayed in the B&B before which was great. This time we tried our first family camping trip on the campsite in the massive field behind the B&B. Had a great time, the pitches had lots of space between them, loads of space in the field for our lad to run around, play games. We hired a pitch which had a fire pit so we enjoyed a proper camp fire. Hired the canoe and the 3 of us fitted comfortably into one of the ‘family’ size canoes, which are very stable, spacious etc. Our hosts John, Beverley, Darren and Theresa were super helpful all the time we were there. A perfect place for families. A great Bank holiday weekend and we will definitely be visiting again / recommending to friends. Many thanks Ed
QUIET AND COMFORTABLE! We stayed one night to break up our long journey. The cabin was excellent, comfortable beds, hot shower, everything provided if you wanted to prepare your own meals. The owners are lovely and nothing was too much trouble, the breakfast was delicious with a wide range of options. We enjoyed it so much that we will be booking again next year!
Another nice stay Second time for us using this B&B and the standards are still high. Warm greeting, large clean room with comfortable beds, good shower and a great breakfast in the morning using locally sourced produce. Keep up the good work and we will be back!
Cabin in the field. The cabin we occupied was close to the main house but was quite independent with little kitchenette, big bathroom, a sort of living room part and a bedroom part. It was decorated in a chalet fashion and also had some Native American artefacts. It is one of the options offered by this quiet and friendly bed and breakfast in the March area with the river flowing at the bottom of the camping field. Very nice.
What a find! Very happy with my stay. My accommodation was upgraded at no extra cost and the room was A1 – beautifully thought out and tastefully decorated. Lovely views and peaceful. Breakfast was all organic and locally sourced food. Very happy.
A great family option I stayed with my wife and two children in a family ‘cabin’ between the main house and the campsite. The room was well equipped and comfortable, with plenty of space, a nice clean bathroom and basic kitchen facilities. The breakfast was lovely and the owners were very happy to accommodate food requests. All in all a lovely place to stay and I’d certainly stay agin if I’m in the area.
Lovely little B+B I stayed here for a night recently and was very impressed. You can tell the people who run this B+B take pride in the establishment. When I arrived I was greeted by who I assume was the owner who offered to help carry my bags up. Its been a while since anybody has offered that (I’ve stayed in many a B+B in my time). There is only 3 rooms and so the place has a homely feel to it, which I really liked. The room itself was immaculate and the grounds of the premises are well cared for. Breakfast was also nice with a range of options from fruit to a full English. Price wise I thought it was very reasonable. Its cheaper than a Travelodge and way better. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here and if I need a place to stay in March then I will definitely stop again (if I can get a room).
Very friendly – Comfy stay – Great Breakfasts I have never been keen on B & B type accommodation but John and Bev have converted me. I had an excellent stay at Four Winds with such a comfy sleep on both the nights I stayed. Breakfast was consistently lovely on both mornings and I would definitely recommend a stay here and will hopefully be returning.
the most amazing location and owners you could ever meet It was the first time i have visited fourwinds, the beds are so relaxing as i got a really good night sleep. When we went down for breakfast the next morning there was also the best cooked breakfast i have ever had :). i would recommend it to anyone who is going to Cambridgeshire. Lovely location
Somewhere to return to when we can; lovely people, peaceful place, quality breakfast! We booked a B&B room and the cabin on the edge of their camping site for two nights. The kids where amazed and excited to stay in the cabin (with Grandma!). The cabin is fun and well kitted out, but peaceful and well located in the grounds, We had planned a car free day, so the 30 minute walk along the river path into March town itself to go exploring was just right….can also recommend Fossils Galore if with kids. We also used the B&B room with separate private bathroom and that too more than met expectations, although this room is not en-suite (they do have some that are) the bathroom very nice with a large bath and shower and the bedroom well appointed. Breakfast featured local produce and home made bread and jams, deserving of it’s Enjoy England award and “The Hotel Inspector’s” praise!
family friends and marsh mellows! this is the 3rd time we have visited Fourwinds in the last 4 yrs and I have to say, the relaxed friendly atmosphere promoted by John, Bev, Darren and Theresa is what makes this such a special place! The fact that Bev asked how our dog Murphy was following his last visit when he had an unfortunate trip to the local vets, made us realise this is a true family camp site! Thank you for another fabulous weekend break!
parfait! Everything was perfect. We enjoyed our beautiful cabin, superb breakfast and kind reception. We recommend Fourwind Leisure without a doubt! The area is lovely and quiet, such a pleasure to open the window and see rabbits! Would definitely come back +++
Lovely cabin, greatly enjoy! Love the cabin provided by Foureinds B&B. Located in a very quiet area. Cabin is so spacious, clean and comfortable. Two beds provided for our family of four are confortable. Kitchen are fully equipped and bathroom are clean. Bev provided us home made cookie and milk which are great touch. Breakfast are super tasty. All local produce and cook fresher. Definitely recommend to everyone.
Great place Bev was a great hostess, really friendly. We loved the cabin and the facilities in there were excellent – great shower, lovely ceramic hob, very clean. Loved the nearby 9 hole golf course with superb pro who couldn’t do enough for us. Visited Ely which was beautiful, only 30 mins drive away. Worst thing about our stay was that we had only booked 3 nights. we didn’t want to come home!
Lovely stay We had a great time staying in Fourwinds. Beautiful location by the riverside, very well presented room and very clean. I lloved the garden with lots of space to sit down and relax. The hosts were very friendly and they served us a very nice breakfast. Overall we had a great time.
LOVELY HOSTS….FAB BREAKFAST…. ENJOYABLE CAMPING AND CANOEING. A short 2 night stay, we were made to feel very welcome. Really good fresh & great quality reasonably priced breakfasts. Large camping field facing onto riverside…….fire pits and canoe hire. Would stay there again. My only moan when comparing to other campsites we have stayed at would be to maybe have a shower block & toilets built in the field to cater for more people. Lovely stay.
Excellent Place to Stay I stayed here with my wife for three nights whilst visiting the area and we were very pleased with the whole experience. Tucked away a short drive from the town. Very quiet , lovely setting , the premises also has a camping site behind it. We had a room which was on the side/rear of property. The room and bathroom was recently converted and was in pristine condition with top quality fixtures and furniture. Meals were taken in an adjacent dining room, conservatory or even outside as the weather was good. The landlady, Bev, was a lovely host and was very welcoming . The food was sourced locally, and a lot of homemade biscuits, cakes and jams . All excellently cooked. I could not fault any of it. Plenty of room for parking due to the very large field at the rear but also some next to the building. We were made aware of lovely river walk to town, fishing, canoeing and archery available but our plans gave us no time to try these out. It is a gem of a place and will definitely stay again.
Lovely Location, Lovely Finish to interior The drive in is not quite what I expected from the description, and the log cabin does feel like it been “plonked” in the space with no attempt to make it feel as though it fits, but its a little blip in a beautiful thing. you wake up in a lush bed with a choice of feather or synthetic pillows, to a the smell of fresh wood and birds chirping. The owners lovingly supply fresh milk, tea and coffee and delish biscuits for your stay. we didn’t have breakfast so couldn’t comment, but the couple who welcomed us seemed lovely and helpful. i had a little wander down to the river and back to soak up the place. will definitely visit again. cant say just have clean and pristine all the textiles were.
Perfect Stay Lovely stay, nice owners, brill quality of food for breakfast and home baked biscuits and cakes, comfy beds, spottless rooms and bathrooms. What more could you ask for. We had such a good experience that we will return.
A home away from home! I visited recently on a business stop over trip. It was very homely and very clean. I had a lovely bathroom to myself – although it wasn’t attached to my room, it was just across the hall. I arrived to homemade biscuits waiting for me and a cup of tea. Breakfast was lovely – all cooked fresh and free range. I couldn’t recommend this B&B more. If you are looking for a luxury, glamorous, modern B&B, this isn’t the place for you. But if you are looking for a comfortable stay, a friendly face and a perfect breakfast, this is the place for you.
Jiri + Eva from Prague This is a wonderful B+B with very nice rooms, generous bathroom, outside garden to enjoy, very pleasant hosts, delicious breakfast in a cosy dining room, very quiet surroundings and good location, simply a great place to stay.
Exactly what I needed Lovely staff throughout the whole stay. Room was clean and had everything you would need. Very helpful with allergies (as I have 6 in total, so can be quite a pain in many places). Surrounding area is lovely and quiet. Couldn’t ask for more.
Second visit as good as the first We wanted somewhere comfortable and quiet to stay so, having visited before, we made a booking well in advance of our stay and took advantage of a special offer. The room was ideal with plenty of space and a good-sized wardrobe. Wi-fi was very good. The food is excellent. Hosts very friendly. Highly recommended.
A Beautiful Stay A wonderful welcome from John and Bev, like we were already friends! So friendly and helpful. Shown to the cabin and immediately struck by how clean and fresh it was, beautifully decorated in a cosy stylish way. Stayed for two nights, comfy bed, excellent shower, superb breakfast! Can’t wait to come back and fish! Lovely walk along the river to the town where we recommend you use J and B Fish Bar, extremely reasonable, with incredible cod! Take some time to sit by the river, great birdwatching and all those cheeky bunnies! Only downside is its gone too quickly! Thankyou. We’ll be back as soon as we can to see you all! Can’t wait 😊 John and Sam, Maldon Essex xx
Log cabin stay highly recommended 5 star We stayed in the log cabin as my wife was doing a sky dive down the road, I walked in and it really has the wow factor in it. The room was immaculately clean, it slept 5 of us 2 adults 2 big kids and a baby (cot provided) the grounds was very nice, the cabin had a hob microwave bbq etc would one hundred percent recommend a stay here, brilliant value for money. Breakfast was extremely nice all fresh. Do not hesitate to stay here the people are nice the place is lovely
Like a four star hotel Stayed for one night with my daughter. Like a four star hotel – so clean – good quality sheets and towels. Breakfast fabulous – I wish we’d known that we could have had evening meal – we ate at a local pizzeria which was poor
5 * bnb I stayed at fourwinds for 2 nights as I had a 3 day work course in the area. Everything is perfect. The owners, the room, the breakfast.. All high quality and lots of effort put in. I loved my stay and felt very comfortable and relaxed throughout. I will definitely stay there again if I am in the area.
Highly recommended Stopped overnight at this beautiful B&B. Our en-suite family room was spacious, clean, with small fridge, water and fresh milk provided for our tea and coffee making. Breakfast is to die for, home made bread , jam and marmalade, good size English breakfast also a vege option. Very reasonably priced. Our hosts Beverley and John were so welcoming and helpful, will definitely be stopping the again
wonderful stay Very happy with stay at Fourwinds B&B. Lovely location with plenty of activities to book if required. Facilities for camping all there so may camp next time. Friendly, helpful staff and breakfast was amazing.
Two night stay for b and b I do not think it could have been nicer. Room lovely, very comfortable bed, service excellent including a specially early breakfast to enable me to get to an appointment on time. Thank you – will be with you again in two weeks.
Irene & Michael’s overnight stay A nice quiet spot on the edge of the Fenland town of March. Our room with en suite Bathroom was top class. Plenty of room. Slept well. Owners/staff were very keen to make our short stay comfortable. Would return again should we wish to explore North Cambridgeshire.
Highly recommended Such a great find and a place I would happily stay again when I am in the area. The room was wonderful, spacious and well equipped. There were even home-baked cookies and fresh milk in my room! Breakfast was delicious and made using local and homemade products. The owner was extremely helpful and friendly and I would highky recommend Fourwinds to anyone looking for a great place to stay and at a very decent price.
March BB My sister and I were in March for a funeral so needed overnight accommodation. Friendly hosts with an interest in Native American art and life. Very clean room. Our good sized room had a double and single beds. The large bathroom was not ensuite but only a few steps away which was ok but we had to pass the entrance to the breakfast room for a second or two. The weather was bad so we did not get a chance to walk to the river at the end of the long garden but it looked as though it would be lovely in good weather. Dykes were either side of the road leading to the B&B so be careful if driving there for the first time in the dark. Breakfast was locally sourced and good, especially the bacon! Evening meals are available with prior notice. Recommended if looking for a friendly but unobtrusive, clean, comfortable B&B.
Lovely stay We stayed for one night whilst walking the Hereward Way, which passes the Fourwinds. We were made to feel very welcome, the room was lovely and the breakfast and evening meal were delicious. Thank you!
short break Most friendly b&b spotlessly clean easy parking right outside the b&b. Choice of time for breakfast making this a home from home with a good choice of what you wood like . somewhere I would definitely return to again
Lovely stay Just stayed at the fourwinds b&b for one night with my hubby and son, stayed in the family room off the conservatory, was very happy and pleased with the room, lovely massive room with king sized bed and single bed, fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. A tv with DVD player and loads of DVDs to choose from that were located in the conservatory. The host was lovely and very welcoming. Breakfast in the morning was lovely and again the host was very attentive. The grounds are beautiful. Would recommend to anyone who is visiting March.
Lovely B & B We were visiting relatives so booked at the last minute. The ground floor room was large with a king size bed and single bed, and with a good size bathroom, bath and shower. Very clean with good quality furnishings. Hair dryer, kettle. Breakfast was very good with home made soda bread and jams. There is a Vegetarian option which I had and it was delicious ! . Very friendly and helpful hosts. Due to unforeseen circumstances we did not arrive until very late but John was very accommodating. I would definitely book again if I am in the area. Unfortunately you do need a car !
Comfortable, clean and friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable. Bev and John are excellent hosts, warm and friendly. They like to produce their own products and buy locally sourced food. Would definitely stay here again. A real find.
Hidden Gem! We stopped here while attending a surprise birthday party in the next village. From the welcome we received to our departure we felt ‘at home’. The beds are really comfortable and the rooms are spacious with everything you could need – including fresh milk in the fridge & home made biscuits! The full English breakfast was absolutely divine. I don’t think we’ve ever had such meaty bacon. All local produce and cooked to perfection. We left our car at the party location and took a taxi back to Four Winds on the Saturday night. On the Sunday morning John, the owner, took us to collect our car which we thought was so kind of him. He wouldn’t accept payment for this so we left him a tenner in the room to show our appreciation. Hope you found it!! We have no hesitation in recommending this B&B to others and will certainly be back if we have any more parties to attend! Thank you so much for a comfortable and pleasant stay – we wish the business continued success 🙂
Lovely experience Such a lovely little bed and breakfast, the hosts are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are lovely and clean. Situated in a nice quiet area. Breakfast was great, with home made bread and jams. Would stay here again 🙂
Great brecky !! Very helpful couple , we got held up at Standted & got to b&b at 2 am & Bev ( the boss !!) was there waiting . Good sized rooms & the best brecky I’ve had for a good while & we just left the Ritz Carlton & Marina Bay Sands hotel in Singapore so impressed , well done to John the Chef ( the other boss !) keep up the good work .
Very relaxing stay Everything at Fourwinds breathens rest, nature, even magic because the energy in and around the house is extremely quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay very much and will not hesitate to tell other people and return to Fourwinds
What a gem! One of the best B&Bs I’ve had the pleasure of staying at- hosts that make you part of the family, give you a room that you’d find in your own home, and then feed you a homecooked, locally sourced supertasty breakfast. And the complimentary muffins in the room and the minifridge were super… we know where we’ll be staying next time we’re back in the area!
Home from home Have stayed here many times as family nearby- Bev and John perfect hosts with nothing ever to much trouble. The rooms are wonderfully clean and beautifully appointed with everything you need. The breakfasts are delicious – Bevs home made bread is fabulous. Calling Fourwinds a B and B doesn’t do it justice ……. more a 5 star hotel! Thank you and looking forwards to our next stay!
Fantastic Fourwinds Had a lovely two night stay here over valentines weekend. Room 2 was very spacious with everything you need to make the stay very comfortable, especially the homemade biscuits. Breakfast was delicious and lots to choose from, locally sourced products made it extra tasty. In a great location, we visited Ely which has lots to offer. John and Bev were very friendly and gave us great tips for exploring. Great value for money, would definitely recommend.
Peaceful and comfortable I stay here when I’m in the area for work and it’s a lovely quiet spot. Great value for money, lovely breakfast and very friendly. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable and there are some nice walks in the area if you have time.
Excellent once again We love this place. Just a little retreat from everyday life. Lovely homemade evening meals, comfortable bedrooms and spacious new bathrooms. Extremely friendly owners who can’t do enough for you. We just need an excuse to go again!
Peaceful Can be hard to find but worth it.Nice quiet location with fishing and archery available.Bathroom facilities shared with owners and other residents breakfast good lots of choices including cooked and cereals fruit etc
Lovely room, location and breakfast We stayed at Fourwinds in mid January after coming from Whittlesey. We didn’t have a car but it’s only a £5 taxi ride from March town, so very easy and cheap to get to if you don’t have your own transport. Room itself was very good, comfortable bed, high quality furnishings and a great en suite with views of the surrounding countryside out the back. Very welcoming and the breakfast was a great start to the day too. We walked into March along the river, which was enjoyable even in January.
Home from home Very comfortable, and relaxing stay. Excellent breakfast and the offer of evening meal if booked in advance. Pleasant surroundings and nice walk to the river in the summer. For families canoeing is available.
Try here you will love it The welcome was warm and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and spotless. The beds are very comfortable and the breakfast delicious. So good I almost didn’t leave a review to keep it my little secret.Fantastic place to stay
A perfect peaceful friendly haven There is nothing to fault here either withe room or lovely breakfast and the homely friendly proprietors.Perfect in every way.The setting was delightful. We felt so at home and relaxed and would have liked to have stayed longer
Can’t be beaten! I lodged with Bev and John for two days each week over the past two and a half years and would still be there now if I hadn’t stopped working in the area. Despite being some 15 miles from my base I never looked for anywhere else to stay, simply because it is a home from home. I valued their hospitality and friendliness more than they will ever realise and they made living away from home more than bearable. If I am ever in the area again, they know that I’ll be back!
Very excellent BB Very friendly couple whom own it. Very accommodating and welcoming. Comfortable room and bed. Nice, quiet location. Good value. I went with my partner and our 2 & 3 year old girls, and it’s not easy to get a B&B that caters for 2 adults and 2 kids in a room.
Great Rooms & Accommodating Hosts Had a lovely stay at Fourwinds – we stayed here before completing a skydive. The hosts were great and left us a packed breakfast to take with us! The room we stayed in was perfect – king sized bed with an additional single bed and dressing table and wardrobe etc. We had our own private adjoining bathroom which was spotless. Would definitely stay again!
Great Fourwinds Stumbled on this B&B online and I must say it is a Gem . The B&B is clean – extremely clean and the host / staff are extremely helpful and friendly . The breakfast was amazing . All freshly made – Fresh bread , Jam and locally sourced ingredients . Will be sure to pay a revisit Thank You Bev
Lovely Stay Only thing was we got lost trying to find them, should have looked better at the map! Lovely friendly hosts and would definitely stay again when visiting family in March. Perhaps we will try kayaking next time!
Highly recommended I recently booked a weekend break for my partners birthday I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Service was faultless and friendly the room was spacious and sparkling clean and lovely food. Thanks Carlie & Tom
Our Stay at Four Winds A great place to stay with fantastic food. Everything perfect, would definitely stay again. The room was bright and spotlessly clean, the beds very comfortable and the room contained everything we needed.
What a place! We can see why this great place is rated so highly; it exceeded our high expectations. Everything is aimed at pleasing the guests – lovely comfortable rooms, really good breakfast using quality local ingredients, and a very warm welcome. Absolutely first rate.
Lovely and welcoming Only stayed foe one night. Rooms were lovely and excellent value. Pristine. They should enter four in a bed. The downstairs garden room resembled something from a top hotel. Lovely choice at breakfast. And johns not a bad chef!!! My husband particularly admired the photos. Our room slept four. Lovely views.
perfect lovely room, beautifully decorated and clean. But Beverly made us really welcomed even though we were literally only there for an overnight stop. I wish we’d had more time there as the location is fantastic but the way the place is cared of and the care that was taken of us was second to none (like leaving us breakfast bags in the morning packed with goodies because we had to leave before breakfast – next time
Helpful owners Bev and John went out of their way to help us make the most of our stay. They were friendly, courteous and welcoming. The campsite is busy in the summer, but the open space and river walks are lovely .
Highly recommend Fourwinds BB Great location, warm and welcoming hosts. Excellent quality breakfast. Very good service which was friendly and informative. Cleanliness of all the rooms and quality of the beds are top notch. The kids loved the freedom the facilities offered and we were happy in the knowledge that they were safe.
wonderful stay with positive surprises I didn´t expect this stay to be so excellent – I had two evenings in a hot tub in a beautiful garden, was given a massage in the annex by a therapist, enjoyed a wonderful breakfast with lovely fruits.
Great B&B. Bev and John extremely helpful… And good cooks too! Clean, spacious en suite room with much appreciated extras, such as the mini fridge and supply of chilled fresh milk, rather than fiddly, wasteful individual uht milk. Delicious breakfasts cooked by both Bev and John…… And, if needed, hearty, tasty home cooked evening meals at reasonable prices. The quiet location outside March, means that the holiday could be as relaxing or active as we wanted…from canoeing, archery, or a gentle stroll along the old river Nene, which flows along the edge of the grounds. Highly recommend a stay here.
Extraordinary B & B – Absolutely the Best! Fourwinds is an extraordinary B & B as well as an excellent value. Bev and John go out of their way to be helpful. The room and bed is extremely comfortable. The setting is “library quiet.” The bath is similar in quality to a luxury hotel. Breakfast in the morning is the tops and so is the service. I really hated to leave and hope to return again someday.
excellent weekend break Bev and John excellent hosts. Room was spotless, the view from our window breathtaking overlooking the grounds and fields beyond, the bed was as comfortable as any we’ve ever slept in. Breakfast was delicious .
Fantastic What more can you say wonderful hosts, breakfast and accommodation 👍🏽 would highly recommend a visit. We stayed in the bed and breakfast but there is a campsite as well and activities that you can do
Great B & B extraordinary experience Excellent B & B, great value . Extraordinary experience in activities offered, Canoeing and Archery . Food very nice, room large and comfortable, suitable for families with laundry facilities. Hosts very friendly and helpful.
Caravan Holiday We have just taken our caravan to Fourwinds .It is a B&B but has a field behind with just a few pitches which was very nice as it was a very friendly site .The hosts were very friendly and helpful .They would provide you a breakfast and evening meal if u didn’t want to cook .The facilities were spotless and though there was only 2 toilets and 2 showers as it was a small site presented no queuing. We will definitely go back again as also there is a river u can fish on and they hire out canoes for those who want a trip up the river.
Superb location Greeted warmly by owners and shown room etc. Plenty of activities and interesting things to do . Shame I only booked for 1 night , would have loved to spent more time there. Room private and very clean Breakfast also great. Went out of their way to look after their guests without being intrusive .
Regular Business Trip I really can’t rate this place highly enough. It’s in a lovely seclude location, but not far from March and Chatteris. The owners are really lovely and can’t do enough to help out, and the rooms are perfect. The biscuits on arrival do no harm either.
Fourwinds B & B was our lovely home away from home! What a lovely setting with the canal running thru the bottom of the garden! Bev and John were wonderful hosts, friendly and helpful and totally accommodating to our group of 5. Our rooms were large and clean with comfy beds, modern baths, and great amenities like Bev’s homemade cookies. We really enjoyed the cozy conservatory in the afternoons and evenings. Food was fresh and freshly prepared with diets catered for. We ended most days with a lovely light supper there as it was so good. Bring your own wine, if you wish. John was super about transfers to boat and/or train station and even helped us learn our knots for our first Narrowboat cruise!
Total relaxation in a lovely setting with caring hosts! Felt like being home with caring hosts to provide comfort, excellent food, a lovely peaceful setting to explore the area by car, boat or on foot. The canal runs through the foot of the garden and has swans and ducks. Rooms were clean with great beds, all amenities including Bev’s homemade shortbread. Home cooked evening meals with diets catered for. Transfers to town and train station when needed. Washers and dryers nearby if needed.
Fourwinds BB We couldn’t have made a better selection when staying in March UK in May-June 2015, before cruising on a narrowboat and upon return. What fun all around. The hosts were terrific and extremely helpful.
Super friendly, fab room Great service, very friendly, room large and clean, great food. Really easy to find. Been really looked after during my stay by the lovely Bev and John ……….. thanks John for all your help with my car. x
Comfy, friendly — great B B Recently my husband and I along with three friends took over John and Bev’s B&B for around four nights in preparation for a narrow boat trip. I can’t say enough positive about our experience — comfortable rooms, amazing food, and wonderful hosts who did everything they could to make our stay effortless. It was easy to feel completely at home. John and Beverly are gracious hosts who always went the extra mile whether it was catering to American food tastes, giving us lifts to the Narrow Boat yard, picking us up, arranging for taxis, helping us learn nautical knots, or just explaining what a tamarisk is. One of our best experiences in the UK this time and one of the best B & B’s I’ve been to. Thanks for a wonderful time!
Simply superb !! this has to be one of the friendliest owners I have met, I was greeted by Bev, with a huge smile and a quick tour of the facilities. I was offered a ground floor room which was very large, with all the facilities you would expect, tea, coffee, fresh milk and bottled water in a mini fridge, flat screen TV, and free wifi. After a quiet nights sleep, breakfast was served by Bevs husband John, a good hearty full English with good quality produce, very good indeed. I only stopped one night whist travelling, but I shall definitely add this one to my top list, and can happily recommend.
Excellent! We booked it after reading all the positive reviews in various online portals and expectations were met in all aspects! Very friendly owners, very nice and clean rooms and one of the best breakfasts we ever had. It is a little bit off the beaten track, but well worth the drive.
lovely room warm welcome We had the downstairs room with a huge bathroom the bed is very comfortable breakfast was very good and the owners were very helpful and friendly . Lovely home baked biscuits in your room and some water and milk in your mini fridge very welcome. We had a nice stroll along the river in the evening excellent value would definitely book again.
A warm welcome. Warm welcome, large well appointed room, fridge with fresh milk and delicious breakfasts. Excellent value for money and very hospitable owners. Bev and John are excellent hosts- friendly and happy to chat, but not in the least intrusive.
Lovely B&b b Lovely clean home lovely breakfast would recommend anyone stay here quiet area lovely walks to go on, helpful staff who was able to recommend nice places to visit in area, lots of parking safe area what is not to like
One of the best b & bs we’ve stayed in. Friendly welcome. Clean, nicely furnished bedroom and bathroom. Brilliant breakfast. Owners very helpful in arranging transport for us. Exactly what we wanted for our stay. Only one small niggle if I’m being picky and that’s the bed, could have been a bit more comfortable but didn’t prevent me having a good nights sleep.
Perfect Came up to Peterborough from Bristol for work and needed a place to stay, found the Fourwinds to be an excellent b+b. Superb value for money and friendly reception from the owner. One of the best nights sleep in a long time very comfortable bed and relaxing quiet location.
Faultless! Myself and two friends stayed here on 2nd May. We had the pleasure of staying in the newly decorated downstairs room with ensuite bathroom. I cannot say enough how lovely the room was. Really tasteful decor and the bathroom was really spacious and spotlessly clean. We were lucky enough to eat an evening meal there and had chicken and mushroom pie, ham egg and chips and desserts. The food was fantastic and for a really reasonable price to boot. Had a very comfortable night’s sleep and had a wonderful breakfast the next morning. Homemade bread, perfectly cooked poached eggs to mention just a few things. If you want to get away from it all you cannot do better than Fourwinds. Bev and John were wonderful hosts and I really need to think of an excuse to come back!
Fantastic Weekend Ian and Elaine A weekend to remember. John and Bev are the best you will ever find in running a brilliant B&B. Nothing is to much trouble. The en-suite room is faultless.Clean, warm, bed was so comfortable, fridge, tea coffee, chocolate, bottled water, fresh milk, biscuits all provided. Great bathroom with everything that you need. Breakfast, excellent, with a good “time window” to sit down and eat when you want. Will recommend to all our friends. Will return. “Home from home” We cannot thank you enough.
GREAT PLACE TO STAY Had a good stay at the Fourwinds guest house in March. Great welcome from hosts one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in ,The room was very clean and lovely touches like real milk in the fridge instead of those tiny pots you normally get. the only little thing that was strange was my on sweet was acroos the hall way. Having said that I think that it was the best bathroom I have ever used.it was spacious luxurious ,very clean and a great shower all in all Ienjoyed my stay at fourwinds and would recommend a stay their, Lovely place
Peace and Bliss, – with home cooked food I found the Fourwinds B & B by chance. I have to say, from the moment I arrived I was welcomed with a smile. The room I was afforded was fantastic, huge double bed – with lovely firm mattress and duvet, massive bay window with views over the country side and canals. Breakfast was lovely my evening meal of Chicken and Leek pie was delicious, all home made. Beth and John are fantastic people, and even though this was a business trip lasting 2 nights, I will be returning in the near future for a family break as they also have caravan parking, and other facilities that welcome all. Thank you to Beth and John for a lovely relaxing time.
Fantastic little break We have just got back from a lovely weekend at Fourwinds B and B. It is a lovely place to stay. Our room was clean and lovely and we had a private bathroom which was brilliant. We were leaving early on Saturday to go to the skydiving centre, so they kindly gave us a pack up for breakfast. We had breakfast today and it was beautiful- locally sourced food and a good variety. I tried the homemade elderberry jelly and it was gorgeous so asked for one to take home which they kindly gave me! It is a nice walk to March village although there isn’t much there. Good driving distance to Ely which has a cathedral and more tourist attractions. There is the option of hiring canoes and learning to do archery but we did not get a chance to do those things. The owners were lovely and happy to help. The place is kept very clean and looks beautiful. I would definitely go back again. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Enjoyable Stay Beth and John gave us a very warm welcome. My 18 month old toddler loved the space, inside and outside the house. The rooms are neat and tidy and breakfast is cooked freshly with local produce. It was a very pleasant stay, will definitely visit again.
Faultless This B&B was faultless. I had the best two nights sleep. The bed was so comfortable and it was so lovely to relax in the big bath. The breakfast was cooked to perfection and Bev ever-so friendly. It was lovely and peaceful and we enjoyed a nice stroll along the river nene into March town centre. The room was comfortable and the B&B very clean. We didn’t take our kids but they were more then welcome & the rooms big enough. I would definitely recommend it.
Fabulous accomadation and a perfect poached egg too! We stayed in room 2 downstairs, with a bathroom attached. It was lovely, private and very relaxing. There was oodles of hot water, the bath was fabulous and it was really close to March town centre. Breakfast was really nice and I’m very picky about my poached eggs, but mine were cooked to perfection. We loved all the little touches with the home made jams, bread and muffins. We would definitely stay there again and I’ve already recommended it to my friends and family.
Clean and Comfortable We have stayed for two separate nights now in different rooms. The rooms are very pleasant, warm, clean, comfortable and quiet. A good hospitality tray is provided in each room. Wi fi is also available. Bev and John are good hosts, not too intrusive, but friendly and readily available when needed. The breakfast is excellent with home made bread and freshly cooked local produce.
Lovely people Stayed for 2 nights at Fourwinds B&B, when we arrived we were welcomed by John, very polite and showed us to our room which was very clean and had all we needed ie. tea and coffee facilities and lovely homemade biscuits which were delicious. The breakfasts were great and plenty of it. Will certainly stay here again if we are visiting in this area again. Would recommend Fourwinds to our friends.
Fresh air and fun in the Fens We stayed for two nights at the fourwinds B&B, on arrival we were welcomed by John who made us feel very much at home. Shown to our room we were most impressed by the quality of the fixtures and fittings, the bed was superb. In the morning we had a cooked breakfast which was very tasty and made with locally sourced produce, the home made bread was delightful. John and Bev are so warm and accommodating. I would give this 10/10 for all aspects involved in staying at a B&B first class. You really should stay here 🙂
Very Nice Chose the Fourwinds whilst we were at a Wedding in the area and very pleased with the choice, the room was very comfortable the breakfast was lovely and the host we more than helpfull,I would recommend the Fourwinds to anyone.
Great BB We stayed over for one Saturday night in January, having visited Ely that day. All aspects were good. We stayed in the downstairs room which had a very large-super kingsize bed. The bathroom was across a passageway but that did not pose any problem. dressing gowns were provided. The bathroom was spotless and well appointed and lots of hot water. The breakfast was beautifully cooked and as much as we wanted. The hosts were friendly and very helpful. All in all we would certainly stay there again and would certainly recommend it to our friends.
still great this is the second time we have stopped at fourwinds b&b. nothing has changed it’s still great. room very comfortable with a huge bed and very spacious for a small b&b. the private bathroom is at least comparable with a 4* hotel if not better. breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. john and bev make you feel very welcome. would highly recommend and will certainly stop at fourwinds again when in the area.
Return visit to Fourwinds I visited this b&b a few years ago – it was great then! Decided that we would stay again while on a Christmas/New Year visit to Europe, the Fens offer some “big skies” as everything is so flat and some great landscapes for photographers – we were driving from London to Scotland and called ahead to see if they had a room – We were in luck………the same room as I was on my last visit. A very comfortable nights sleep and a great full English breakfast to send us on our way. See you next time Beverly and John.
overnight on route to norfolk We stayed one night on route to a funeral in kings Lynn so not a social occasion ,although having gone miles past fourwinds as it was dark and we don’t have a sat nav we had a warm welcome ,the bathroom was very nice well fitted and robes provided to go to and fro as it is on the ground floor across the hall. The breakfast was very nice lovely sausages homemade bread biscuits and jams .we would stay again also found John,s pictures interesting of native Americans so bought some for Xmas gifts which John sent to me promptly thank you for our stay
Two night stay for Work I came to fourwinds for a work trip, the owners were very welcoming and friendly. The area was lovely and I will definitely return in the summer to give canoeing in the Fens a go! The family room was really cosy, clean, and I slept very well. Particularly enjoyed the homemade biscuits! Breakfast was lovely, I had the full vegetarian, sausages, mushrooms, beans, home made bread , breakfast potatoes (new to me but i loved !) and poached egg. I also had supper at Fourwinds (arrabiata pasta) and this was yummy , and a bargain. Thank you again for the lovely stay!
ITS A HIDDEN GEM, ITS IN MARCH ! I needed a overnight stopover on route to Peterborough, so research i did, i located this hidden gem. After making the reservation i received a welcome email with relevant info regarding my proposed visit, a very nice touch i thought, I was greeted on the day by Beverley who is so lovely, she shown me my room and explained the various details as one required, the room was spacious and very tastefully decorated, I was greeted by double bed with clean linen and very soft and cosy mattress, flat screen tv which was of a reasonable size, the must have wifi which is free, tea/coffee making facilities and Beverley lovely homemade biscuits, i was wanting more, she definitely has a hidden talent. The B & B is located on the outskirts of March with lovely gardens, and boarded by a little river which one can venture via boats or canoe, sorry too cold to sample, i think another trip in brighter weather is in order. After a very restful night, it was breakfast time, there was choice of cereal to start, with choice of fruit juices, then there was the full cooked breakfast , it was ample in size, presentation was a delight, with local produce the order of the day, i was truly set for the day ahead. i highly recommend this B and B and would definitely be visiting again. Thanks guys
Really comfortable Nice to relax in a warm clean and comfortable room. Although the upstairs room had an en-suite it was small but perfectly functional and very clean. Of the three beds I chose a single and had a good nights uninterrupted sleep. And the breakfast, with home made bread was delicious and really set me up for the day. Highly recommended and a shame I could only stay one night. I’m looking forward to another stay, hopefully quite soon.
Best B+B Easy to find with really comfortable beds. The rooms are nicely designed and the hosts were helpful with finding somewhere to eat in the evening. The breakfasts were amazing with so much choice. Really tasty. Would definitely stay again and recommend to everyone.
Perfect B+B Very comfortable room, luxury bathroom, best breakfast. We stayed in the downstairs room with an enormous bed which was very comfortable. Bev served a great breakfast, more than we could manage. It was easy to find the house.
First rate choice for comfort and value Bev is the consummate host, very relaxed and friendly. The rooms are spotless and the beds very comfortable with fresh cotton linen. Ample coffee in the room and excellent wi-fi. The breakfast is very good quality with quality bread, jams and fruit. Really I can’t find a fault with Fourwinds, and would recommend this place without reservation. Quite outstanding value for money!
Highly Recommended Stayed for 1 night to attend a local party, wished we could have stayed longer. House was lovely, room was very clean and spacious with lovely views over the countryside. The beds and pillows were very comfy, the breakfast was superb as was the hospitality and service. If we are back in the area, we will be back.
very nice Lovely property and house, nice clean room, really good breakfast, and Bev was very friendly and approachable. Arrived early and was able to check in without issue. Bathroom for downstairs room is private but not ensuite. One night stay
The harbour for tired sailors. I would recommend this place for everyone. I regret I could not stay longer! I went away early morning, before breakfast but a nice surprise awaited for me: a cake, a juice etc. Very useful pack:) for busy man!
Excellent chillout! Just had a lovely stay here, we had the ground floor room with a very large and cosy bed and lovely bathroom. John and Beverley both very friendly, and happy to help look out for more detail on things we were interested in doing locally. Lots of really nice touches including a great breakfast with home-made bread, to make us feel very relaxed. We ended up hiring a canoe from their back garden and having a lovely paddle along the river Nene, which is very quiet! And there are also enough decent food and drink options in March, to make a good weekend of it. We would definitely come back, and the camping facilities looked tip-top as well, including that you can pay for their great breakfast! Thanks J and B.
A Little gem A super place to stay. Wonderful room and a great garden. We were made very welcome by Beverley and her husband. We would recommend Fourwinds to everyone who wanted peace and quiet and a very comfortable bed. Great choice at breakfast and a nice wave to wish us on our way. Ron and Jenny McL
Fantastic and friendly service. The location was perfect, rural yet only a short riverside walk along the westside of the river Nene. We stayed two nights in a well appointed, very clean, light and airy room, which had comfortable beds. Our eight and six year old girls loved it very much and Bev and John were extremely friendly and attentive. The home made touches added that special touch. The breakfasts were excellent and the selection was good. The quality and presentation of the cooked breakfast was up there with expensive hotels. A lovely family weekend made that much more enjoyable by Bev and John, thank you very much.
Book in here, it’s lovely! Clean lovely room, good breakfast, super view and right on the river, great for walks into March. Right in the countryside amongst the fields, rabbits playing on the lawn, lovely gardens with BBQ. Friendly staff very attentive. Home made biscuits on arrival! Thank you fourwind.
Driving through a storm We drove through a summer storm and arrived late for check in, Bev was very kindly waiting up for us. We a were attending a family wedding over the weekend and it was a perfect location. The rooms were spotless and the breakfast lovely. I would thoroughly reccomend this B and B.
another memorable weekend second year running and we’re back at Fourwinds for a long weekend having fun & laughter with friends and family! What a fantastic venue to chill out whilst the kids play during the day and cook marshmallows on the fire at night. Another truly memorable weekend…..thanks Bev & John, we will definitely be back next year!
Mother and Daughter Reunion As this was a special occasion it was an ideal place to stay for personalised service and attention. Bev and John are good hosts and very attentive. Breakfast excellent, with homemade jam and marmalade, and biscuits in the room Thanks very much
Best home made bread ever and lovely welcoming people Stayed for two nights and it was very clean and comfortable. Beautiful garden and surroundings. We liked that they had a selection of books and dvds. The food was excellent. They even do packed lunches which we didn’t try but would next time.i would stay there again and would Highly recommend
Excellent stay Lovely and quiet place to stay! Room was lovely and owners even nicer! everything is close by! Would have liked a bathroom in the room, but the one i had was beautiful and clean. Will definitely stay here again when i am in the area!
Excellent accommodation Very comfortable and clean accommodation with extremely friendly hosts. Nothing too much trouble. Breakfasts were yummy with homemade produce. Lovely touch were the homemade biscuits in the room. I had a great stay and if ever I need accommodation in the area again will certainly be returning.
Really lovely B&B for the whole family. Loved it. As a family of 5 (kids aged 12, 12 and 8) we sometimes struggle to get cost-effective accommodation but the family room upstairs was perfect for our 2-night stay. Fourwinds were happy for us to bring a blowup mattress for our youngest and there was plenty of room for that. The kids are still raving about the breakfasts (one of which was ready for us by request before 7am!) and John was friendly, helpful and everything we could wish for in a host. The ensuite was spotless and just what we needed. The room was clean and everything worked up to and including the broadband wifi. Now looking for an excuse to visit again! Great value and much better than the chain hotels we usually use. We’d have no hesitation in recommending Fourwinds to anyone.
Excellent stay We have had one night b&q at fourwinds. The hospitality was amazing, nothing was too much trouble, clean and comfortable rooms and excellent breakfasts. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in the area you must try this place.
enjoyed stay but noise problem Well kept site with courteous host. but troubled by noise from nearby industrial outlet this is a problem at night. if i was the owner i would get the local environmental health to check the noise levels at night using proper equipment
A very enjoyable stay Myself, my wife and 7 year old son booked the family room at Fourwinds B & B as part of my wifes 40th birthday celebrations. We had a lovely stay, Our host was very attentive and friendly. The room was large, comfortable, peaceful and clean. One of the reasons we chose Fourwinds B&B was to hire the Kayak / Canoe. It was great, none of us have tried Kayaking before however we had a great time. All 3 of us were in one canoe / kayak, Before we set off on the river John from Fourwinds B & B gave us good tips and guidance and the Kayak was very stable and comfortable. You can literally walk out of the B&B down to the river and into your Kayak. The river is gentle and calm and ideal for beginners or families. We enjoyed our canoe into March and back again. Our 7 year old boy loved the adventure. The B&B has a massive field where kids can run around , play ball games etc without dusturbing anyone. The location is quiet and we enjoyed the breakfast. John even maanged to find a choc ice for our lad! which was a great gesture. We look forward to visiting again and are keen to try out the campsite which looked excellent.
Great campsite Lovely welcome, well organized, good sized plots and perfectly accommodating to our needs. Happy to have the dog, on hand with logs for a fire and eager for us to pick from their herb garden. Very clean toilet and shower facilities and an efficient check out. Thank you for a great stay.
Lovely, warm welcome Helpful, friendly, polite & cooks a mean breakfast! 😁👍 Thumbs up!! Helpful, friendly, polite & cooks a mean breakfast! Helpful, friendly, polite & cooks a mean breakfast! Helpful, friendly, polite & cooks a mean breakfast! Helpful, friendly, polite & cooks a mean breakfast!
Warm welcome, kind and helpful owners. We stayed in the family room, it had everything we needed. They owners were very helpful as we had 2 young children, they were happy to sterilise bottles etc. I had a couple of enquiries before we stayed and they answered these with no trouble. We were also able to check in earlier which was very helpful. They made our stay very comfortable. I would highly recommend this b and b.
WELL WORTH A VISIT This was one of the best B&Bs I have stayed in. The communication from the owners was very courteous, advising of how to find their place. The room was beautifully clean, warm and comfortable with an excellent en-suite. Home made biscuits and a fridge with proper milk in had been provided. The room also had a lovely view and a nice TV. Unfortunately, I had to leave early in the morning so was unable to have breakfast, but I was offered a ‘breakfast to go’ anyway. The owners were extremely accommodating and most hospitable and deserve many more reviews like this one. You won’t be disappointed and I wish them continued success. Would definitely stay again.
Excellent B and B This is the best B and B I stayed in for a long time. Everything was perfect, fantastic breakfast and evening meals, lovely room in quiet location overlooking the river and a very warm welcome. Highly recommended, I would definitely stay again!
Check This Out This is a clean, comfortable B & B with a quiet location, serving optional excellent home cooked food. A very comfortable bed, with an excellent WiFi connection. For business or pleasure this is a very good find great value and peace and quiet.
Clean, quiet and comfortable Just stayed for one night and had not much time to see the surroundings, but the B&B was clean, the host friendly and helpful and the bed was very comfortable. Very good price/quality Wish I had more time to explore the area.
Comfortable, welcoming, excellent breakfast This is an unusually good b&b. An excellent cooked breakfast with unlimited fresh coffee, spacious room, comfortable bed, fast wifi and a warm welcome. A few minutes from the centre of March with its choice of restaurants. Outstanding.
A great place to stay The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. I have never had such a warm and friendly welcome and would happily stay there again. Everything you need was available which made the visit a wonderful experience. Fantastic!
A warm welcome Bev is great – she even picked us from the airport and was flexible with the check- in time.Loved the home made biscuits, clean room and superb breakfast. We slept well as the location is quite and not near the noisy city centre
Perfect start to a perfect experience! My 2 friends and I have booked in the family room at the Fourwinds. We got the train from London to stay the night in March to get ready for a Sky Diving experience the next morning. We arrived quite late in the evening which is a shame as we would have loved to enjoy the lovely conservatory and garden made available to us. The B&B is lovely and was very cosy. We felt right at home. The room was spacious and very clean. The beds were very comfortable. We loved the nice touches such as the little fridge just outside the bedroom filled with a fresh bottle of milk and 3 water bottles for us! We had a good night sleep considering what we were planning on doing the next morning! Our host, Bev was very helpful, friendly and smiley! She made us feel welcome and at home. There were some fresh from the oven banana muffins in the sunny breakfast room the next morning and they were absolutely delicious! Thanks so much! The Fourwinds B&B felt like home so much that we wished we could have just hung out there all day! Our Skydive jump went really well, and the whole experience was fantastic. Overall our stay at the Fourwinds was excellent and was definitely the best start to a perfect experience for us! We felt rested and looked after and were ready for the big jump! Thank you so much Bev, for your hospitality and your lovely B&B with its gorgeous surroundings! If we ever go back for another Skydive jump in March, we’ll definitely stay at the Fourwinds again! Without a doubt! We highly recommend it!
5 star BB A great location with a comfortable room that offered nice touches such as tea and coffee making facilities with delicious home made biscuits. My bathroom looked like something out of a 5* hotel with lovely towels, classy soaps and shampoo and a great shower. Breakfast was superb with produce sourced locally and home made bread. If this all sounds good then the best thing here are the owners who are welcoming but respect your privacy and who clearly live what they do. I cannot rate this highly enough.
A warm welcome! This is a lovely B&B. Our room was very comfortable and spacious with a beautiful view over towards the Old River Nene. Homemade biscuits to go with the tea and coffee are a lovely touch, and it is so nice to have fresh milk! Beds were extremely comfy and the location is quiet and so we slept very well. We liked the crystals and wind chimes as the energy was very calm and relaxing. Breakfast was delicious with amazing homemade soda bread and delicious muffins! The cooked breakfast offered is excellent quality with a varied choice. Bev and John are great hosts and are attentive. We thought we had fantastic value for money so will definitely be returning when we next visit family in the area.
Home from home Great food great hospitality greAt location will be staying again soon liked the full size tv and homemade biscuits and bread stayed whilst working away from home nice to have a separate private bathroom
Great visit as usual! Spent another 3 days with Family in March so stayed at Fourwinds . As with all our stays we were made very welcome – lovely room/ fabulous breakfast- Bev is happy to prepare anything -I highly recommend the porridge!! Our only gripe(????) we never stay long enough!!
Denis’s daughter and partner spent 3 nights with Beverley and John Having spent a night in one of FourWinds rooms and enjoying a sumptuous breakfast back in September, when my wife and I bought a bungalow in March we could think of no better place for our daughter and partner to stay when we moved to March at the end of January. Bev and John are such great hosts and company, we knew they would thoroughly enjoy their stay and true to form they were made to feel right at home. If anyone is looking for comfortable and really good accommodation with a breakfast that will set you up for the day then FourWinds is the place to choose.
It was just so lovely. A quiet peaceful retreat. As a lone traveller, I appreciated being made to feel so welcome. I was thoroughly looked after by Beverley and John. As well as fantastic breakfasts and homemade cakes and biscuits, I took advantage of their evening meals, which were filling and delicious. I certainly did not go hungry! The room was cosy, the bed was comfy and the bathroom was something I would love to have in my own home. The water was always hot too. I would recommend Fourwinds to everyone, and will go back.
Excellent last minute accommodation Booked at last minute but turned out perfect. Owners very friendly, had a family room with large tv/DVD, home made biscuits, fresh milk for coffee, large, v comfortable bed. 5. Min drive into March for a nice curry and a gorgeous breakfast! Couldn’t fault it.
Great base for anglers. Stayed with John and Bev on thr campsite at fourwinds. At the time we were there the nsme was appropriate as the winds certainly came. The tent my friend and I were using for our pike fishing trip took the full force of the winds for two nights after which were were forced to move into tge small four person caravan they have on the site. This is a great base for visiting anglers as it is located close to lots of the famous drains and rivers and is actually on the banks of the old river nene with free fishing included. For families visiting in the summer months John and Bev have Canadian canoes available to hire to explore the river. Btw fellow pike anglers. The showers are excellent and supermarkets are a short drive away for bait as well as a well stocked tackle shop in the town an a great butty van for breakfast. Having discovered this little gem we are going back in February and will use it as a base whenever we are in the fens.
Comfortable and spotless I stayed for one night as I was working in the area. Bev and John were very welcoming, the room was clean and had everything I needed, it was peaceful and the bed was so comfortable that I didn’t want to get out of it in the morning …but unfortunately I had to go to work! Breakfast was delicious and so filling that I didn’t need any lunch! Hopefully I will get the chance to return in future.
Our fabulous night away. We spent one night away as a family and will definitely be going back again. The welcome John and Bev gave us was really wonderful. The family room is very clean & comfortable and on this cold November night warm & cosy. The view from the family room is pleasant & peaceful. We very much enjoyed Bevs home made biscuits in the bedroom to go with tea. The breakfast,s were for all our tastes. Fresh and beautifully cooked. As well as having so much choice. Bev & John are very skilled as hosts and able to cater for children and their individual requests for food choice. We will really look forward to going back in the new year.
Another great stay! We have stayed with Bev and John several times now as family live nearby and once again we were not disappointed. Spotlessly clean warm comfortable room, fantastic breakfasts from fresh fruit to full English with scrumptious home made bread- all with a yum factor! They are wonderful hosts and we feel its a real home from home! Already booked in for the next time! Most definitely the place to stay in March!
Homely and Peaceful Found this wonderful B&B after searching for somewhere to stay whilst visiting friends in March. We had the upstairs bedroom which was a fantastic size, especially when traveling with a young child. Made to feel extremely welcome on arrival and enjoyed a fantastic cooked breakfast every morning. Will be staying again next time we are in March.
The best B&B in March Another great stay at the Fourwinds B&B. Bev and John the proprietors greet you on arrival with a welcome you will not forget, they are so very kind and considerate. Often when staying in a B&B I don’t expect to sleep well because the beds are not great but that could not be said of the Fourwinds beds. Their beds are bliss to sleep in but then everything in the room makes one feel cosseted right down to the home made biscuits replenished each day. The breakfasts are wonderful too with fresh fruit salads, yoghurt of every kind, cereals, the traditional FULL English breakfast with a vegetarian option supported by baskets full of toast made from home made bread with home made jams and an endless supply of really good coffee and tea. In short the best place to stay if your visiting March.
Short business stay Stopped in the B&B, room 2 upstairs, one night on business in early October. Huge room, choice of beds and free wifi were all great, and was made to feel really welcome by Beverly. I’m also on a gluten free diet, which was catered for admirably, and the ‘Plate and Porter’ in town was able to do me a first class evening meal the night before. If you love big skies, you’ll love the area – wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and will hopefully stay again.
Very comfortable, very friendly, excellent value Good B&B in a convenient location which was easy to find. Breakfast was excellent and plenty on offer. Homemade cookies in the bedroom! Comfy bed and good sized room. Excellent service. Very friendly. Look forward to staying there next time am in the area.
Denis and Sharon – Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire We spent a really enjoyable night at the Fourwinds B&B on Monday 23 September 2013, having just agreed to purchase a property in the March are. The accommodation was real quality with all that you need for a good night’s sleep, comfortable and very well appointed, and, well the breakfast was something else, great local produce, cooked to perfection. John and Beverley are great hosts and make you feel so welcome, all we can say is that they felt more like friends even after just one night. We would recommend this to anyone for a great overall experience.
Excellent hosts – superb break Not long back from a week’s camping at Fourwinds. Really relaxing. Good base to explore the Fens, March area, Kings Lynn, Ely, Hunstanton, and beautiful countryside and coast line. Hosts make you feel very welcome. Excellent value and facilities including showers, toliets, and washing up area. Wonderful large field for private relaxation space. Canoes are great fun!
A perfect stay John and Beverly were courteous, welcoming and polite. I was given a beautiful room which was comfortable, clean, modern and well furnished. John and Beverly provided all the amenities expected of a high standard B&B incl. homemade biscuits which were very yummy. The private bathroom was immaculate and large with a good hot powerful shower. Breakfast and in house meals are homemade and locally sourced. They even provide kayaking / canoeing – well worth trying! Overall a wonderful stay!
quality the quality of the room (1) was beyond all expectations. 4* hotel quality. huge comfy bed and decent quality fittings. spotlessly clean. although the room was not en suite we had our own bathroom a few steps across the hallway. the bathroom was of the same quality as the bedroom. john and bev were very welcoming and available if needed. breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. i particularly like being able to choose exactly what i wanted from the list of items on the menu. looking forward to staying at this wonderful b&b in the near future.
Very warm welcome This was our first camping experience and we relied on recommendations here and elsewhere. It lived up to it with great facilities, very warm and helpful welcome from the owners plus a splendid cooked breakfast. A simple field with a good stretch of river at the end. Fenlands have their own charm so decide if that is what you want but we had a very enjoyable stay. Very affordable, good hook-up and pitch. Excellent toilets and showers.
Excellant place to stay we have just returned from 2 nights camping at Fourwinds. Cannot recommend highly enough. the site is superb, the facilities the best we have stayed at so far this year. It was a pleasure not a chore to use the showers etc, always clean and plenty of hot water. We took along our daughters plus a friends daughter so had 2 12 yr olds and an 8 yr old and without any technology they had a great time. We booked the canaidan conoes for a jaunt down the river and all survived the experience and came back dry, even the dog!! would highly recommend the experience. We had a pitch with a fire pit and would suggest this for cooler evenings. John and Bev the owners could not be more friendly or helpful. If you are looking for a site or B&B in this area then Fourwinds is the place to stay. p.s the breakfast smelt great will definitely try next time!!
Fabulous hospitality. Spotless. Delicious meals. My wife and I stayed for 3 nights at the B&B, with our 3 children, aged 13, 12 and 9…it was superb! The rooms worked out well, both en suite, with ample room, comfortable beds, and a working TV/DVD to keep the kids entertained later in the evening. Bev and John were great: friendly and helpful…the little touches (lent us their bike as we were one short; homemade biscuits in the room) make a big difference. Canoeing + kayaking was good fun (25 miles of river if you like), and with the sun out we were all in the river swimming a couple of times – lovely clean water, with little current (non tidal). Food was a treat (we had breakfast and dinner): Bev is an excellent cook, prepared to cater for specific requests (we are veg)…watch out for the homemade breads and jams! Clearly I’m a fan, I’m struggling to find “constructive criticism”…we’ll be back, with friends! Paul
The Best in the Area We have stayed in a number of B&Bs/Hotels in this area visiting family, but we can quite happily say that this is the best for quality, value, warmth and surroundings. John and Bev are lovely hosts, attentive, informative but not overbearing; food is excellent – breakfast consists of fresh fruit, muffins, yoghurts and of course a fantastic full english if you can manage it. Rooms are immaculate and every need catered for – including homemade cookies, bottled water, tea/coffee (with fresh milk in fridge on landing). I could go on; the views from our family room were lovely across the Campsite, over to the river. Campers can come in for breakfast (or dinner) so it all has a community feel. I couldn’t fault it – and will definitely return when we are in the area, but may Camp, as the site also looked so good! But if you do camp, make sure you go for breakfast!!! Thanks John and Bev, a real find in this area.
One night family stay We stayed at Fourwinds for one night as a stop-over to break up a long journey – the family room was plenty big enough & very comfortable for us and our two daughters aged 5 & 4. John & Bev were very welcoming and breakfast was fantastic! Fourwinds is terrific value. We would definitely stay again & recommend to friends & family.
Superb place to stay. Stayed for a night to visit family the next day. Very warm welcome on arrival (even though we were quite late arriving). Good size family room and excellent that the children had full size beds, all very comfortable and had a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was very tasty, especially the sausages and bacon. Lovely to meet Bev and John and will definitely stay again when we next visit Cambridgeshire, my daughter is keen to try the archery.
Just what was required I stayed at Fourwinds for one night as I was in March on business. I found the room to be spacious and very well equipped and the welcome very warm. An excellent breakfast in the morning too. And all at a very competitive midweek rate.
Relaxing break The service at Fourwinds B&B was excellent, John helped unload luggage and take to our room which was a good size and very clean, beds were extremely comfortable had a great sleep. The bathroom facilities were very clean with option of shower or bath. The location is stunning, plenty of green with a river at the back. Bev prepared a excellent breakfast which was very tasty x2 full English breakfasts one was veggie option, plus gluten & dairy free. I will return with friends to try out the camping which looks great. Highly recommended.
Highly Recommended Two of our employees have stayed here over the last few weeks in the B&B, whilst they worked in the area. Bev and John (the proprietors) have been extremely helpful to us. Our employees have said it is a beautiful site, very well maintained, the accommodation spotless and the breakfasts wonderful. Very highly recommended.
Excellent stay Spent two nights at Fourwinds Leisure in June and I really can’t fault it in any way. John and Beverley are perfect hosts and my room was clean and comfortable with a view across fields to the river. It was so quiet too, something I appreciate living in a tiny village, and I had two good nights sleep. Loved the river walk too. Will return for sure.
Last minute booking but definitely a first class experience My husband and I stayed at the Fourwinds B&B for two nights in May 2013 and we would definitely recommend it to anyone (and everyone!) Our room was clean and very comfortable with an ensuite which although small was perfectly adequate. A welcoming touch was the homemade biscuits with the tea and coffee making facilities and the bottled water. Breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice for those who do not want the ‘full english’ – fresh fruit, yogurt, muffins etc. On site there are plenty of activities which sadly we did not have time to sample – perhaps we will on our next visit! Bev and John were the perfect hosts and could not have done more to make us feel welcome. We were blessed with excellent weather but their sunny dispositions would have made it a brilliant break even if it had rained! Big thanks to Bev and John
Eggscellent (Breakfast and all) Having tried all the (fairly) good and other business hotels, I have become tired of waking up at all hours of the night and listening to the hens and stags parties coming back. Staying at the Fourwinds B&B was a very nice experience, from the welcoming from Beverly and John to the spotless room and bathroom to a very nice breakfast. Lovely surroundings and a good night sleep summed it all up. I will be back.
Wonderful retreat Having just returned from a weekend at the Fourwinds bed and breakfast I cannot praise it more highly. From being greeted upon our arrival to the moment we left John and Bev’s hospitality was second to none. The purpose of our trip was for my daughter to learn archery, taught by John. She really enjoyed her course and John’s patience was commendable. The bedroom was large, clean and comfortable. We coffee making facilities and homemade biscuits waiting for us. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection. Along with our cooked breakfast there were homemade muffins and jams tempting us. Fourwinds is a haven of tranquility, not only from its idyllic setting, but from its hosts who were very special. I am plotting a return visit to have a go at the various activities on offer.
Great for a short break My partner and I had the pleasure to stay here for a night. We wish we had more time. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The en-suite room was perfect. There was a good selection to choose from for breakfast. I particularly liked the homemade jams and the strong ground coffee. I will certainly return, maybe at a warmer time of year, for some fishing and canoeing fun.
Business Trip I stayed at the Four winds for a couple of nights whilst on business in the area, I would just like to thank Bev and John for their hospitality. The B&B is one of the best I have stayed in, very welcoming, I would defiantly stay there again.
A lovely weekend break My husband and I stayed two nights in the cleanest B & B we have ever stayed in. We were given a warm welcome by Bev and John. The bedroom was large, very comfortable and quiet and we both slept like logs. The breakfast was delicious, plenty to eat and lovely local sausages. We would definitely recommend a stay here and are looking forward to going back.
First class value for money Stayed just one night, but would definitely come again. My husband and I enjoyed Beverley’s delicious home made soup, followed by home made shortbread and coffee. The bedroom was spacious yet cosy and warm and the bed so comfortable, slept like a log. So much delicious food on offer for breakfast, couldn’t sample it all, but what I did have was superb – Beverley is an excellent cook and a very friendly and welcoming host – nothing was too much trouble for her. I wish I could be looked after so well every day!
Two night stay at Fourwinds From the moment I contacted Fourwinds all I can say is that many of the expensive Hotels can learn a lot from the superb experience we have had from Bev and John. The room was spotless with homemade biscuits as well as the usual tea/coffee plus as my partner liked chamomile tea they were included when we returned on the first night. To make things easy for us we decided to take up the offer of a cooked dinner at the B&B on our first night, many times I have not been impressed with in house food when we have stayed in other places but the food was so good we ate there the next night also. Quality fresh homemade food, locally sourced ingredients, fantastic breakfast (as others have mentioned) all in all a lovely experience and we will definately be coming back when we come to March to visit family. A big thank you to Bev and John for making us feel so welcome.
The Best Ever We have stayed in many places while promoting our charity.. But this is by far the best ever,,Clean ,tidy and so so welcoming Made you feel at home And the breakfast was fantastic with lots of homemade bread, muffins, jams and marmalades Can’t wait to go back down there..
I would like to live there! Very tastefully decorated. Great breakfast, friendly and accommodating staff. Garden also lovely and backs onto river. I am going to take the kids next time and try a canoe 🙂 or maybe I should keep it for my own little haven. Highly recommended.
Warm welcome We had booked a couple of nights in order to visit relatives, but ended up wishing we had more time to spend relaxing at the B&B as it was so nice. Everything was very clean, well organised and of high quality. The hosts Bev and John were extremely welcoming and friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. The spacious room and large bathroom were well furnished, comfortable and clean. There was an excellent range of food for breakfast, and the cooked breakfast was fantastic, with good quality ingredients. The B&B was close enough to March for convenience, but sufficiently out in the countryside for us to have a peaceful and quiet night’s sleep, and the instructions on their website made it easy to find. The attention to detail was impressive, e.g. fresh milk for your room’s tea and coffee, and a lovely conservatory to relax in. We’re definitely looking forward to staying there again.
Port in a Storm Terry and I set off from mid-Norfolk to cycle to Cardiff and our first day was GRUELLING: vicious heat, over-loaded bikes, long, unending, unwinding roads though the Fens and I was begging for mercy. An overnight stay at Fourwinds was cycling therapy heaven: great evening meal (try the Pork and Fennel casserole); good, basic campsite and washing facilities (a generous 6-minute shower for your 50p) and a diet-defying breakfast that set us up nicely for the long ride to Leicester. THANK YOU!!
Fantastic Never before have I stayed in a B&B with such a warm welcome and with such a large, pleasant bedroom with a nice view out of the window. The place was quiet at night which gave me the chance to sleep well. Everything one wants from a B&B was there; and more. TV, Wifi, comfortable bed, en-suite facilities but, to cap it all, really excellent food. The breakfasts were sublime and the offer of an evening meal too good to pass by. If you are ever in the area this is the place to stay.
Excellent site! We stayed as campers on the field rather than in the B&B but the site is beautiful! Allowing open fires is a real bonus as not many camp sites offer this. The toilets and showers are part of the main building being clean and warm are also a great thing! John and Bev who own the site are welcoming and helpful. We hired a canoe for a few hours which was great. I would definitely recommend Fourwinds to families and groups. I know I shall be visiting again.
Excellent camping site, very friendly and clean! I booked two nights camping with a friend in August and the only regret we had was that we hadn’t arranged to stay longer! John and Bev were great hosts and made me feel very welcome from the initial phonecall to our arrival and throughout our stay. We took advantage of the canoe hire and was the highlight of our short stay. Great site for camping, local shops are minutes away, genuinely could not wish for a better site and hosts! We are booking for a month’s time and will be returning as often as possible! Thanks J&B for a great mini holiday! Mike & Dave
Absolutely amazing B&B, best I’ve stayed in! Stayed in this B&B with my partner over a bank holiday weekend. Affordable rooms which were absolutely brilliant; huge beds, incredibly clean and amazing hot chocolate in the rooms! Friendly owners who make an incredible breakfast, definitely deserving of an award! Quiet and lovely getaway with loads of activities on site including canoeing and kayaking which were great fun to take out for the day. Will definitely be returning soon, definitely worth a stay if you are in the area.
Thank god for a decent veggie breakfast Stayed at this lovely b&b in June this year (sorry only just found my way here and had to share my thoughts). We had a lovely time, the room was delightful and very affordable. All the facilities were tip top but the thing that impressed me most was breakfast. Being vegetarian I’ve had a few bad experiences at other establishments so going to the trouble of proper veggie sausages and even the offer of local duck or hens eggs made me feel properly catered for. John and Bev just seemed happy to go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. My husband and I felt so at home here that we have been back to try the camping and canoeing. Another fab experience well done John and Bev 🙂
Best friendly B&B in Cambridgeshire What a find! Stayed here in July whilst on a business trip – great bed, very comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was really good as well – the full English……guaranteed to put on a pound or two. I even had time for a paddle in an available canoe on the river bordering immediately adjacent to the property. Bonus – no rain! Well done Beverly and John – very attentive. I will definitely stay the next time I am in the area.
Honestly? Best b and b we have ever stayed in. Very comfortable stay. Beds huge and comfortable, even for my 6′ 5″ height. Wonderful hosts, lovely food. Very relaxed atmosphere. We have just booked to take the family camping at Four Winds as the site facilities are excellent too, a credit to the owners.
Highly recommended We stayed in the ground floor room. Clean, roomy, plenty of wardrobe space and a nice touch was the home made biscuits. Very yummy. Camp site facilities looked excellent and if you do nothing else, treat yourself to at least one full English breakfast. Bev and John are great hosts. We will be back – DC
A Lovely Stay Stayed for one night. Bed very comfortable room had a lovely view towards the river and breakfast was great. We tried out some archery and canoeing which was great fun and you can walk into March town centre along the Old River Nene. Planning another visit soon.
