Stayed for 3 nights over the bank holiday weekend! Fantastic site, thank you John, Bev and Prince the staffie for the warm welcome! The toilet and shower rooms were spotless- the nicest I’ve experienced in a long time! The smells from the kitchen each morning were mouth watering! Fortunately for us the weather was gorgeous which meant BBQ breakfasts!! It was lovely to be by the river and the cycle ride into March was great, which takes you along the river and past some lovely little houses (all off road) before reaching a huge park with a playground for the kids. We will definitely be returning!!!

Stayed at Four Winds for 4 nights last week- from the moment we arrived we could not have been better looked after! From our lovely room with amazing views over to the river to the delicious meal we had ordered for that evening to the wonderful breakfasts with everything you could wish for plus home made soda bread to die for! What a find- only thing is there are only 2 bedrooms to let so book early! Bev seems like a friend already( John was away!) Thank you so much for such a lovely time- we are looking forwards to staying again!

Having just returned from a weekend at the Fourwinds bed and breakfast I cannot praise it more highly. From being greeted upon our arrival to the moment we left John and Bev’s hospitality was second to none. The purpose of our trip was for my daughter to learn archery, taught by John. She really enjoyed her course and John’s patience was commendable. The bedroom was large, clean and comfortable. We coffee making facilities and homemade biscuits waiting for us. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection. Along with our cooked breakfast there were homemade muffins and jams tempting us. Fourwinds is a haven of tranquility, not only from its idyllic setting, but from its hosts who were very special. I am plotting a return visit to have a go at the various activities on offer.

Stayed three nights mid week as working in area. John & Beverly made me feel very welcome. Nice and clean B&B home from home. Being winter it was very cold out so it was nice to get back to warm and quiet room. Good nights sleep, refreshed and set off again with hearty breakfast. Will definatly visit again and visit in summer with caravan.

A little gem in the fens. Excellent hosts, treated us like old friends, really made us feel welcome. Very comfortable room with everything you could need, a real home from home. The food was to die for, everything was so fresh and cooked to perfection. Looking forward to going back in the summer, this time with our motorhome, can’t wait to try out the canoes. What a find!!! Thank you both. x

Stayed just one night, but would definitely come again. My husband and I enjoyed Beverley’s delicious home made soup, followed by home made shortbread and coffee. The bedroom was spacious yet cosy and warm and the bed so comfortable, slept like a log. So much delicious food on offer for breakfast, couldn’t sample it all, but what I did have was superb – Beverley is an excellent cook and a very friendly and welcoming host – nothing was too much trouble for her. I wish I could be looked after so well every day!

Have just returned from a short weekend at Fourwinds, we were meetings some friends at the Marina and were looking through U.K. campsites for somewhere local to stay for a few nights and found Fourwinds. What a find, my wife telephoned to see if we could get booked in when we wanted, when she came off the phone she said she had spoken to somebody called John and felt as though she had known him for years, she asked a lot of questions about the site locality in relation to the marina, local facilities, and site facilities and was impressed with his Knowledge of the local area.
When we arrived we were met by John and shown to our pitch then given a tour of the site to see the best way to the marina and the site facilities and finished up in the information room where Bev came out and joined in the conversation, we couldn`t have wished to meet a nicer couple, although they have only had the site since christmas they have already reached a high standard and are thinking of expanding the number of pitches available.
On the whole we could not fault the site, it was very clean everywhere, the grass was freshly mown and John and Bev could not have been more friendly, First class.
We will definately be back soon, thanks a lot.

Just returned from a 8 night holiday at this loverly clean friendly site, both Bev and John was always had time for a natter and it was nice to campsite owners always smileing, the grass is well kept with plenty of room for children to play. The fishing is very easy, only small fish roach and perch but you catch one every throw, if your kids are intrested in fishing and want to learn you will not find a better place, my wife and myself found fishing a size 20 hook and feeding maggot was the best fishing about 800mm deep. There is only 2 showers and 2 toilets but we never had to wait, always clean, plenty of hand towels and toilet rolls, we will defenetly will be back.

  15. Caroline spencer says:

I’ve just spent a great weekend at Fourwinds with my family and some friends. The campsite is clean and well maintained and being allowed to have open fires is an added bonus. The river that forms part of the site is also an added bonus and the canoes you can hire from John and Bev are great fun. It’s close to town and a supermarket. The toilet and shower facilities are clean and warm. Couldn’t ask for more!! We will definitely be visiting again soon.

  16. Claire Greaves says:

After a long journey I was very glad to arrive and appreciated the warm welcome from John and Bev. I was made to feel really at home. Great care and attention is given to detail.

Though inexpensive, the room was very pleasant, with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was enjoyable too.

The setting of Fourwinds is quiet and beautiful, looking out over a river at the back. I wish I had had longer to relax and explore. I’m hoping to be able to get back to Fourwinds for another visit and to try out the canoes!

  18. Mike James says:

I booked two nights camping with a friend in August and the only regret we had was that we hadn’t arranged to stay longer! John and Bev were great hosts and made me feel very welcome from the initial phonecall to our arrival and throughout our stay. We took advantage of the canoe hire and was the highlight of our short stay. Great site for camping, local shops are minutes away, genuinely could not wish for a better site and hosts! We are booking for a month’s time and will be returning as often as possible!

Thanks J&B for a great mini holiday!

    Mike & Dave

Thanks to Bev and John for a great week. Canoes were great fun, shame there was no pub at our destination, should have gone into March!

  24. Stephen Newmarch says:

Arrived home yesterday after a 5 night stay with my little ‘un, 9, and my friends and their boy, 10.
What a great week. Mainly good weather so that always helps.
The site is great, generous sized pitches, good soil – pegs in and out nice and easy and held during windy weather. Spotless toilet and shower facilities, site kept really well, We had breakfast provided by Bev on the last morning, good quality and value and brought across to us.
Do the canoeing. It’s great. If you do, make sure you take drinks and sun slap, that’s experience gained the hard way.
Beautiful starry sky at night, not seen anything like it for years.
John and Bev were super hosts, really helpful and friendly, always stopped for a chat when you met them. They seem to enjoy the opportunities to chat with you. Very helpful on local facilities, from bike repair shop to places to eat out.
I could go on, but will finish with a definite intention to return.
Best wishes to Bev and John.

Thank you John and Bev for a fantastic camping weekend – you are clearly passionate and love running the site and it shows in the cleanliness and order of the site. The ground was flat and soft for pitching with the toilets and showers being pristine. I would recommend this site to anyone visiting the area and will definitely be coming back. Thank you. ‘We really enjoyed our stay here at Fourwinds, everything about it was brilliant! Everyone gets a nice large space for their tents, cars, campfires, gazebos, tables and chairs, and even when all that is on it, there is still lots of room! The toilets and showers are very clean and pristine and the mooring, next to the river was great to fish and canoe off! An all round brilliant holiday!’ Bridget

  29. Margie and Darren says:

It was the first time we had camped and, to our surprise, we had a really great time despite the awful weather (raining throughout our stay). John and Bev were very warm and friendly and so attentive to our needs it made our camping experience an enjoyable one. My husband borrowed a tent without checking it had all the bits in the bag….. no tent pegs, ropes or ground cover – John went the extra mile and sorted everything out, he even put the tent up for us!!! The facilities were very clean and you could sense that both John and Bev uphold a high standard. We have already rebooked for August hoping the weather will be better but this time we are taking the kids.

  30. Natalie, Danny & Layla says:

Despite the rain we had a such a great time! Bev and John were absolutely lovely, so welcoming, helpful and beyond accommodating. The facilities were so good it felt more like glamping than camping. We are already planning our next visit. Thanks guys!

  34. Sue Lumley says:

Just returned from an amazing night at your b&b. Thank you so much, the room was delightful and well worth the price. I was very excited about a proper cooked breakfast, being a vegetarian I’ve had a few bad experiences at other establishments so going to the trouble of proper veggie sausages and even the offer of local duck or hens eggs made me feel properly catered for. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you again – Sue, Northants.
